i am not sure where to ask this question.
i am assuming that telnet acsess to yapp
remains posible with the option of using
the web interface here as well as using
unix commands and the conferencing
enviornment of older versions of yapp.
is this the case? and if so, what problems
have people run into on either end (web or otherwise)...

Right. You can log in either way.

We've got the passwords synchronizing on both, we asked Dave to implement
this feature and he's kindly obliged. So far, no problems operating in
either the telnet or the web area. I often have both open at the same
time and use the lightning response time of telnet to move around quickly
and the ease of viewing and scrolling of the web for browsing through
single topics. They both have their advantages. Am I even close to
answering your question? I'll be glad to answer specifics if you have any.

cool, ok, when it comes to the community feel of things,
i tend to prefer telnet... i have used several web based
systems... my primary concern is not interupting the
basics of what yapp offers in a telnet sesion...
terry... when you crossed over to the web interface... how
long did the system upgrade take(how long was the system down)...
have you seen any effects in the telnet sesions since the web
addition was implimented?

You're welcome to a shell account for telnet access if you'd like one.
We just gotten started on this system so most of our traffic is flowing
from the web to telnet (in the case of persons like you who prefer the
telnet access).
