PolyView for Windows 95 -- PolyView is a graphics viewer and conversion utility specifically designed for Windows 95 and Windows NT platforms. BMP, GIF, JPEG, photo-cd, PNG, and TIFF files can be viewed and manipulated with PolyView. Tools for the latter task include color enhance, contrast, embossing, engraving, neon, and brightness, as well as rotation and red/green balance commands. While several clients offer a greater selection of tools for modifying files, to date PolyView is the only client that offers randomized slide shows. With the slide show feature, you can automatically view any group of files with options for choosing the length of time for delay, amount of times to repeat, and whether you want the files loaded in sequence or random order. PolyView is neither the quickest graphics viewer nor does it offer the most features, but because it is currently the only app to offer random slide shows, it does offer one advantage that many will find useful. Pros: Randomized slide show capability, image viewing and manipulation tools Cons: Lacks the speed and features of some of the best graphics viewers New: New filters (embossing, engraving, neon, sharpening, etc.), batch conversion, more Version Reviewed: 2.52 Date of Review: 6/23/96 Reviewer: Forrest Stroud

PolyView is certainly not the only viewer with random slide show. As your own review states, Thumbs has this feature. And I can confirm it.

Is anyone else having problems with the TWAIN Acquire in Polyview? It crashed the program for me.

No, but I'll try it this weekend and let you know.
