Sorry, Jan, but this topic is 24/7 Marcia!
~autumn #1
*whine* Why does Marcia always get all the attention? It's always "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia"! *whine*
~MarciaH #2
You cannot imagine the amazement when I hit the reload button to see if there were any new postings and saw this! This must be some sort of a firth for a drooleur to be thus recognized. Wer, step outside with me for a moment, please...?!
~KitchenManager #3
?
~MarciaH #4
I promise not to do anything bad...I just want to talk to you about something.
~KitchenManager #5
okay
~MarciaH #6
You will not be sorry...I promise!!!
~SBRobinson #7
Marcia, I'm SO impressed! a whole drool site devote just to you! Which one of the babes on the left hand side is you? (hee hee) ;) Have you bragged of this to Ray yet, or do you think he'll stumble across it on his own?
~MarciaH #8
Hi EsBee! Surprise!!! Thanks for your comments! I am the one with the knee up under her chin. I am a floor-dweller, and have used that position from time to time...
~MarciaH #9
...as to the resident male animal...you gotta be kidding. He already has a severely limited sense of humor and an outsized ego, to boot. I think I will keep this little secret from him as well as Drool in general. He does not know of Spring; he just knows I spend an inordinant nuber of hours on the computer "talking to my friends," as he puts it =)
~SBRobinson #10
Then i suppose i'll refrain from sending him an anonymous email, suggesting he check out this site. (*hee hee* -I wouldnt really!) ;) ...Although, perhaps i should send a note with the 800 number of a RR service in Hilo. -always willing to help! :)
~MarciaH #11
Yeah....I see that...and guess whose carriage just had a Jack-in-the-box Clownie stuck onto the antenna. (Yeah, I know...I know!!!)
~KitchenManager #12
and guess who now has her own conference... http://www.spring.net/yapp-bin/restricted/browse/Geo/all
~MarciaH #13
Thank you for mentioning it. Please visit and comment!
~casanova #14
just tell me how does it works it a bit amazing.
~KitchenManager #15
how does what work?
~wolf #16
marcia's conference is neato!!!
~MarciaH #17
Hi Wolf, thanks! Been really busy in there, have enlisted my son who has swamped me with great update links and info stuff. I haven't had so much fun since the last time...and I had a lot of help from a certain gentleman programmer...=)
~KitchenManager #18
see...help somebody out and they start calling you names and spreading rumors and then you've got a reputation...and...and...and...
~MarciaH #19
Sorry if I polished your shining armour too brightly. I had forgotten about that reputation you have to maintain. Silly me! I shall be more careful in the future.
~riette #20
May I say that it did not surprise me in the slightest to find this topic, Marcia.
~MarciaH #21
Ree, Thank you! That is one of the nicest things I have ever been told. I consider it high praise, indeed, from the world-class Babe that you are! I have so much to learn...*sigh*....but I'm a quick learner when inspired!
~riette #22
Nonsense, you're a natural!! As for me; that Babe-thing doesn't exactly apply here. But at least I've got the typing to fall back on!! ha-ha! Actually, and since this IS your topic, I would like to ask you something. See, there is this conference, called 'inner'. Only those of us who are closest have access to it - it's like all the other conferences, but in some cases perhaps a bit more personal. That's because everyone there trusts one another, and we would never tell each others secrets in any of the other conferences. Well, we've all had a talk, and the others have asked me to invite you over, because we like and respect you a great dea . I am not sure if Wer has fixed it so that you'll have access yet, but if he hasn't, he will e-mail you as soon as he has (right, WER???). So, what do you think? Would you consider joining the carriwitchet club?
~MarciaH #23
I would be delighted. Thank you more than I can say (in a few thousand well-chosen words...) I shall be the soul of discretion. Keeping things confidential is part of the integrity and sincerity I bring to the Spring. I am pleased to join you! Mahalo Nui Loa! wer, are you listening??? Please contact me as to what I am to do. Thanks!
~KitchenManager #24
oh, that's it, Ree, just let everyone know about it!!! anyway, it started off because I can't afford prescription drugs and professional therapy, and my confidants have just kind of run with it since then...between them and my own little voices, I am feeling much better now! (and, yes, I'll email you...)
~MarciaH #25
Thank you! As ever, you pluck me up by the shoe strings and set me down/up where I should be. I am Most Grateful, Wer!
~riette #26
Did I say something wrong??? Wer??? Was I supposed to do this via e-mail?? Oh, bugger!
~MarciaH #27
Sweetie, Not to worry. That I am delighted to be there is without doubtand I have already made a rather large puddle in Concensus. And, here I thought I was house-broken! (Wer, please don't flog her!)
~riette #28
No, Wer, don't listen to her! Flog me, flog me!
~MarciaH #29
Hey, you gotta get in line...behind me =)
~wolf #30
wiat a second, no one needs to be flogged! well, *ahem* unless they wants to be!
~MarciaH #31
That was sort of the idea, was it not?!
~KitchenManager #32
*fingers crossed*
~MarciaH #33
Do you prefer to do it with your fingers crossed?! Come aside and lets do a test run...
~KitchenManager #34
never tried! so, you'd be first then right, Marcia? it is, after all, your topic...
~MarciaH #35
Indeed - the rest are alseep for the night, I believe...Have your way with me, William!
~KitchenManager #36
my way? there's got to be better ways than that! suggestions, anyone? Ree, where's your sister when I need some tips?!?!
~riette #37
She's moving to Virginia, but I know what her advice would be: 'Just stick it in!'
~KitchenManager #38
that sounds like your advice...and besides, we are still talking spanking aren't we?
~MarciaH #39
William, dear, I thought this was between us. You will figure something out..but, a word of warning. You hurt me, you have to kiss it and make it better. And, please, no onlookers...!
~KitchenManager #40
I'm just trying to figure out what's going on!
~MarciaH #41
(If you find out, please let me know!) Anyway, all Babes worth the name - go write poetry, collect something and tell Wolf all about it, or come hunt rocks with me in Geo.
~KitchenManager #42
and don't mind me while I sit in the corner and babble...
~stacey #43
*laugh* you've endeared yourself to me and many others through such 'babbling'... so don't sit so far into that corner that we can't hear you
~KitchenManager #44
have pissed off almost as many, as well... think I can learn to babble while holding my tongue?
~patas #45
LOL! Marcia, congrats on this topic! You are a very special lady and i'm glad someone thought of honouring you publicly - in this way or any other! Good for you, Wer! Treat her well now, or I'll do the flogging >-E
~MarciaH #46
Thanks Gi. You got back just in time!
~KitchenManager #47
I'm afraid you'll have to get in line, Gi, as there are several in that line, whatever the reason...
~riette #48
I've always wanted to get flogged by a male person with long hair, wearing a white hat, smoking a cigar - - - that visual WAS correct, was it not?
~patas #49
Sorry, Wer, I do not want to be flogged, what I can do is shorten the line up by flogging too :-)
~MarciaH #50
Since this is about me, I will be absent during flogging - got enough unwarranted stuff like that as the little kid in the family. Never again!
~KitchenManager #51
oops, I misunderstood again... I was referring to the line of people wanting to flog me...
~riette #52
ho-hey, hey-ho! The name's Ree-head-mc- monkey-mc-keen, and you've come to the right place! Now, stick out yer ar$e, and cover yer face and I'll show ya a flogging never before seen!
~stacey #53
everyone ran away... no... no... stay back Ree-head... uh uh... nope I didn't want a flogging.. no... please... take that thing somewhere else... aaaccck!!! HELP!!!!!
~MarciaH #54
Decorum, Ladies, Please! Shall we adjourn to the Bath?! They just might not understand out here =)
~MarciaH #55
*lol* (I think I see two lines - one for floggers and one for flogees - and they keep changing sides...this must be corrected immediately)Everyone into the pool! Mind you don't upset the candles and champagne...flowers are fair game and are floating everywhere. Aaaaahhhh! Isn't that better?!
~stacey #56
hey... someone pinched my butt...
~MarciaH #57
You mean it is missing?! OK, who has Stacey's butt?
~stacey #58
*CACKLE* rotflwlomao!
~riette #59
THAT's her butt??? OOPS!! Here, have it back, girl - honest to God, I thought it was .... your tits!!! HAAAA!!!! No! OOOH, OOOH! I have a joke for you! Okay, so this guy murders his wife, and buries her in the back year, with her butt sticking out of the ground. The upset neighbours alarm the police, they come around, they find wifey's butt in the garden. And the young officer asks the guy, 'Why the hell didn't you bury ALL of her??' So, the guy answers, 'I needed a place to park my bicycle.' ha-ha!!!!! That's one of my sister's.
~autumn #60
Where in VA is she moving to, Ree? DC area?
~riette #61
I'm not sure, Autumn - I don't know the USA, but they will be living close to a place called Langley; I think that's what she said. Her huband works for the CIA, a regular little Bond-hunka-man, and apparently that's where their headquarters or somthing is.
~autumn #62
I've heard of Langley Air Force Base, but I'm not sure if it's in Northern VA or not; I'll have to look on a map.
~aschuth #63
Yep. Langley, CIA, that's right. Name's spelled on all the little shops' signs there! "C.I.A.". No dried tomatoes, though. Headquarter, Training Area, the whole thing. No good olive oil, though. Kentucky Bourbon for drinking. Lots of clowns who have never seen a circus, too!
~MarciaH #64
Langley is not your typical Welcome Wagon community! (Love the comment about the clowns!) I read through this whole topic and I do not know who it is that is moving to VA. Might we all know, please?
~riette #65
Marcia, it is my sister, Sonja. Autumn and Stacey and Wer and a few others know her a bit. She logged in while visiting me last year. Anyway, they've bought a 3 storey house there all for themselves, so I guess that'll make the move worth it - it sure would for me! She's a bit of a recluse, so I don't think it'll really matter WHERE she is, so long as she's got her medical books and journals, and the jarred snakes on her bedside table.
~MarciaH #66
Sounds like me...but I need Spring (jarred snakes and bags of lilve frogs in the reefer was my ex). Without Spring I hardly exist at all *grin* Thanks for the explanation...(running to catch up with all the reading of postings and doing Geo at the same time...pant...pant!)
~KitchenManager #67
did I hear reefer?
~MarciaH #68
reefer in this case is refrigerator.
~KitchenManager #69
gotcha...
~MarciaH #70
...and for the record, I have never inhaled either one!
~riette #71
LOL!
~aschuth #72
So "Reefer Madness" in Hawaii is the forbidden midnight stroll to the 'fridge?
~riette #73
HA-HA!!!! Or fridges that attack people. IT'S A-L-I-V-E!!!
~MarciaH #74
Alexander, that is about as exciting as it gets. For the real stuff you ask for Pakalolo which roughly translates as crazy tobacco. It is the largest revenue-producing crop in the Islands, but since it is illegal, it goes untaxed and is thriving. I guess my refrigerator is too full to attack. It just sits there and complains from time to time.
~aschuth #75
Tell me about this other stuff, this P-plant... (Wow! Riette, you like one of my postings! My gosh, what happened to you? Havin' a bad day? ;=} )
~riette #76
Honestly, you are presumptuous! I cannot remember saying ONCE that I liked that posting - I laughed because it was so true, not because it was pleasant! victorious grin And it's been a great day. And yours, good neighbour?
~aschuth #77
Being presumptuous?
~riette #78
Being whatever you want to be - you are a great many things.
~aschuth #79
Unfortunately, I know. You keep telling me, remember?
~riette #80
Did I mention infuriating?
~aschuth #81
No, not today at least.
~aschuth #82
Oh, wait! That was some sort of compliment and I didn't get it, right?
~riette #83
Well, I don't entirely dislike being infuriated. At least it's not dull, it's not asleep.
~aschuth #84
And it seems being infuriated is your favorite state? And anything else is dull in comparison?
~riette #85
No. But I don't see the point in cheap flattery either.. One can't, every time you write a response, say to the previous person, 'Oh, I think you're wonderful and beautiful and perfect.' Okay, okay, that's an exaggeration, and a compliment is a good thing, but if you do it ALL the time, then there's nothing real about it anymore; it's just boring and predictable. I'd rather argue than be flattered falsely.
~MarciaH #86
Aloha you two...would you like to throw down gauntlets or take ten paces...etc? (Ree, be nice to this man - I really think he is special!)
~MarciaH #87
Pakalolo is Marijuana (Canabis) in Hawaiian
~riette #88
Special? Nonsense! He is unpredictable and challenging and will not hear! Actually, that IS my kind of special.
~aschuth #89
Riette, I think you're wonderful and beautiful and perfect, and I share much of what you say above (just couldn't resist this little paradoxon, too tempting), but argue or discussing is one thing. Another thing is saying "THE THRUTH" out straight away, no inhibitions, no consideration. Tried that myself in the past, makes good enemies. Being a bit more tactical and gentle might score more points with the other side... and win them over perhaps. Like I wouldn't be able to convince a chap I just kicked to pulp of my sincere intentions and deeply-felt wish to help him. Not that I'm in the kicking business, but you know what I mean. "No need to kick a guy that's down."
~MarciaH #90
(I think I shall sneak over to collecting again so as not to disturb this little discussion...)
~aschuth #91
(how what's-the-word-I'm-looking-for of you!)
~riette #92
I'd hardly call you 'down', Alexander. And I'm not into the conditioning business. Whatever happened to fun and playing, and people not reading harm into it all the time?? Why is it, that every time one says something that upsets the balance in the slightest, people get scared and remind you not to be bad? What is wrong with challenging and being challenged, and what is so RIGHT about this careful, polished manner of conversation, where one has to take SUCH care to be charming. Why should people not e allowed to get away with anything but insecurity and fear?
~aschuth #93
Because then their heads explode!
~riette #94
If I ever succumb to it, I think I shall die from within.
~MarciaH #95
Are you guys making love or war here? It is hard for me to tell.
~aschuth #96
(Marcia, it's the colour of the spilled fluids by which you can tell... None here, yet. That? Oh, that's just an old scratch. That? Bumped myself against a door, will you believe that!) Riette, I'm just very careful around certain areas and subjects. And emotions. Being open and frank does not have to mean one has to be compulsively drastic. That might alienate people, or scare them. I know - been both sides of that creek. And more often than not drifted it down, too... face down! Could our difference in this derive from me being European and you being African? Do you think the society in which you were raised handles things the way you do? I'm curious... And I wonder about myself... I've found behaviour that invites cooperation and exchange of ideas more becoming to my subjective state of happiness - and my job as editor, foremost! And it works with extremely different types of people, but not all people, and not all the time. But imagine what would happen if I told all the label-folks the truth about their product... even if it is just the personal point I have, and I am not necessarily right.
~aschuth #97
...and I am not necessarily right, which we are just discovering once more!
~MarciaH #98
...oh no! But...I believed in you and think you are right...(but this comment was not addressed to me.) Alexander, what do you edit? I have held that job, also.
~riette #99
So, what we're doing in here is an editing job?
~riette #100
When we are children we are allowed to be honest; when we grow up, that becomes a liability. Suddenly we have to stop thinking freely, and edit our thoughts, and deny feeling what we feel out loud for the sake of not playing out of the careful balance which wise and learned people are so terrified of seeing disturbed. No wonder people never really know where they stand with one another. I find it an insult to people's intelligence to be told I should treat them like an editing job - nobody deserves nything less than the truth. But if people here find that offensive, then I don't really belong here at all.
~terry #101
You belong!
~MarciaH #102
Ree, Dear, my editing days were long ago in another lifetime on a professional basis. I pour everything that is in me here. Please don't feel you do not belong here - that will make us all the poorer and we will all crash. We love what you write - at least, I do!
~stacey #103
Woo Woo! Look at Marcia's table dance everyone... that's fantastic Marcia... are you trying to take our minds off the Bickersons or are you just standing too close to the Pakalolo smoking gorilla?!?! BTW... that outfit is amzaing on you! (what there is of it!)
~stacey #104
uh...that was amazing...
~MarciaH #105
It is nice to be appreciated. Actually I was getting into the mood and all that for posting about the Hawaii questions you posed...and I had to collect the various colors of hibiscus so you could see which island was which. Do you like my coconut shell top? I have to really be careful of the skirt...everywhere are peeking places...so I keep it moving.
~stacey #106
are the grass skirts kinda like the kilts as far as the required under clothing?
~MarciaH #107
Supposedly they wear nothing under their kilts (no stopping for arranging underwear during battle, I guess...) However, under hula skirts (actually shredded Ti leaves, they do wear an aloha-print kind of tight-fitting short shorts. They only show when the dancer is whirling and the skirt rises in a disc around his/her waist.
~KitchenManager #108
one of these days I'm actually gonna get to see one of these table dances you ladies around are always performing when I'm not around... (at least, I hope I will)
~terry #109
OK Fess up how many o fyou have grass skirts?
~MarciaH #110
I table dance in Hawaiian attire by appointment only. Please see me about that. Grass skirts ownership...Hmmm. If you mean raffia ones (those dyed ones with wiggly strands of shredded stuff, probably only a few who dance in Tahitian reviews (Other than the tourist ones which no locals buy.) Each dancer gathers her own leaves and sews them together into an intircately woven waist band. These will last a long time but few outside of professional dancers or Merry Monarch Hula contestants dance in them. A lot of hula is done in long body-hugging Holokus ( mine is white with red trim and print on it. Ergo, I do not have grass skirt. Anyone else?
~stacey #111
no grass skirt here...
~autumn #112
We made them out of crepe paper for a party! Does that count? Oh, and one year my brother was a head hunter for Halloween (Marcia, you probably find that offensive on so many levels!) and we used shredded newspaper to make him a grass skirt. I am still ROFLMAO about Reefer Madness!!!
~MarciaH #113
Autumn, you'd have to try pretty hard to make me find anything you post offensive. Actually, *LOL* was my reaction. I can remember making leis out of crepe paper, and when it rained on us the colors ran onto what we were wearing. Mom was not thrilled by that little venture into things Hawaiian. I guess your brother was from another set of Islands. altogether. Hawaiians are too content to make the effort of hunting for another human. They just reach into the ocean and grab something. Then they eat it as is. That is the one thing I cannot and will not eat at a luau. Raw stuff still struggling to get away - sea urchins, crabs and limpets are things which come to mind.
~autumn #114
I was referring to the type of head hunter so authentically depicted on "Gilligan's Island." Have you noticed that when crepe paper runs, it stains?
~MarciaH #115
No bones through noses here...*lol* And, you bet crepe paper stains. Nasty stuff and is hard to find growing on bushes here, fortunately!
~mrchips #116
MarciaMarciaMarcia looks good in her grass skirt. I have seen her. In a previous life, she was Maureen McCormick...or was that Maureen McGovern?
~MarciaH #117
Patience was rewarded by your visit to this astounding place. I never thought of myself as Babe material, but I have looked choice from time to time (you will verify that...umm..please?!) You cannot know how incredulous I was the day I checked to see what new messages had been posted and I saw that I had my very own Babe site. Pounding heart and sticky palms followed...and here I am. And finally someone who can really tell the world if I qualifiy is here. *grin* Welcome, John! E como mai!
~wolf #118
wow, i missed a lot! can i go back a bit? am going to anyway! langley is across the chesapeake bay in ne virgina. got a friend that works somewhere on that base.
~MarciaH #119
I have a lot of realtives on the Eastern Shore... (Sure, you can do whatever you'd like here *smile*)
~autumn #120
I'll be in Vienna (VA) all next week.
~MarciaH #121
I know Vienna, W Va, but not Vienna, Va. I hope it is cool for you!
~wolf #122
i enjoyed my month at virginia beach, watched the navy seals run every morning from my classroom. now if that doesn't make it hard to concentrate!
~wolf #123
(now i just pulled a major english faux pas---from my classroom, i could see the navy seals do their morning run. they weren't running away from us!!)
~MarciaH #124
Shucks! I thought if they were running from your classroom you might manage to trap one for exhibit and companionship...but...and yes, I'll bet all eyes were out the window for that length of time. ....Ummmmm....
~wolf #125
just the gals. and man were they healthy!
~MarciaH #126
I did not know there were lady seals...I'll bet there was no "inch-pinching" available on those ladies! (did you ever find out where the guys were running and go check them out - in the interest of science and fitness, and all that...?)
~wolf #127
no! the seals were men and only the gals were watching them! couldn't keep up with them no way, no how! watched them ride out on rubber boats with all their gear and they were too happy.
~MarciaH #128
Oh drool...I am sure all Seals qualify as Babes...Do they have a calendar like the US men's Olympic Polo Team???
~kalapana2 #129
hi i made it i think
~MarciaH #130
Yes, You did Indeed! Welcome Nancy! I'll bet you never expected to see me in a topic dedicated to my babe-ness, considering you know what I am like In Real Life!
~Isabel #131
Someone new? Goooood! WELCOME NANCY
~aschuth #132
Welcome to the Spring, Nancy! You know Marcia personally?
~Isabel #133
Are we nosy, Alexander?
~MarciaH #134
Nancy has broken bread with me, shared my soul and last time I parted from her we hugged. That was just a few weeks ago. She knows me almost as well as you do, Alexander! (Isabel, he is an old friend and is concerned for my well-being as I am for his...I appreciate his concern!) This lady is the daughter of Jim Thorpe ( you did find out who his was, did you not?!) Now, to get her to where Terry can chat with her...!
~MarciaH #135
Isabel, Thank you for welcoming her - she needs all the encouragement she can get. Let me tell you about her. I am a Penn State Grad, and when the Lady Lions were coming over here, she called the bookstore at PS and bought me two T-shirts. I wore the "Penn State Alumni" shirt the first time I saw them and it broke the ice - I was immediately one of the family with the team and coaches and other Penn Staters who had come with them. It was fabulous! She also, when we won the Rose Bowl, brought me a bouquet of red roses in a vase around which she had tied Penn State blue and white ribbons. I still have it!...there are so many things...She is very special, indeed, or she would not be here posting in my most "interesting" and "personal" place on Spring. Thank you, as well, Alexander. I shall get to your letter as soon as I possibly can (after I get hauled away from the computer to go shopping and people watching *grin*
~kalapana2 #136
Hi Marcia, lets talk about Jim Thorpe?
~kalapana2 #137
What do you know that's new. you are the one that keeps me informed about what my father, and I really do apprecitate it.
~MarciaH #138
Ok lets go to sports conference...I'll send you the URL to meet me there... I only know that I found the postage stamp with him on it in full football gear and will give it to you when next I see you - at Volleyball? Meet you in sports/college football
~MarciaH #139
Meet me here, Nancy http://www.spring.net/yapp-bin/restricted/read/sports/8
~kalapana2 #140
Hi Alexander, Yes I know Marcia very well, she is a great lady and we have had some great times together. She is Penn State and I am UCLA, we both are vulcan fans and work well together at the games. We don't really watch much we are to busy talking.
~MarciaH #141
( ...and you are too busy telling me about admiring glances from people I cannot see...*smile*)
~aschuth #142
(hehe) Nancy, I hail from Hessen in Middle Europe, but I'm a naturalized citizen of the state of confusion. I'm not too hot on vulcans, I'm pretty happy that ours are dormant. They can give you one hell of a time, no? Looks neat on pictures, though, I hafta admit that.
~MarciaH #143
Semantics, Alexander auf Hessen...it is all semantics! Nancy's referring to Vulcans was the Athletic teams of the University of Hawaii at Hilo who style themselves as Vulcans (rather than the Lions or the Bears or the Giants or whatever) because of the nearby Volcano (But you knew all this, did you not?!). Those other small-v vulcans can mess up the landscape, big time...and you cannot rebuild on "your land" for a long time...it has to cool down first, and then it has to wait out the volcano so see if a other flow is coming your way. Bad situation!
~riette #144
Hi Nancy! Could you tell us more about yourself?
~MarciaH #145
i am trying to get her to sports / OLYMPICS to talk about her father, but she is welcome to tell you that Sonja Hennie taught her how to ice skate!!!
~riette #146
WOW!
~terry #147
That is really cool!
~MarciaH #148
I thought so.
~MarciaH #149
Geez, I think I'm gonna have to take the wheelbarrow across town and bring Nancy back to the Spring. Might have to Land Line her, first. I miss her!
~MarciaH #150
or somebody...anybody???
~lance8 #151
Will I do? I'm just a broken down old orgy master who lit up one-to-many Thai sticks, but it sounds like Marcia is a horny sex fiend, and Riette is Kinky. Marcia, you like floor work? Are you a gymnast as well?
~MarciaH #152
Do I know you? Certainly you will do. Um...floor work? It is the best place to so some things. Only a gymnast on a softer surface. Oh dear, I hoped my horns did not show...! *sigh* Welcome Lance!
~MarciaH #153
Sheesh, he must be reading every babe in here. And, I thought he was going to converse with me...*sigh*
~aschuth #154
So, what happened to this inflamed incense stick up above? Lance broke off?
~MarciaH #155
He will probably be back. I guess it is a he, that is. Lance? Are you out there lurking?
~MarciaH #156
Btw, Alexander, it is very good to see you here. Ever ready to check out the strangers who would post on my topic. *hugs*
~lance8 #157
I don't lurk. I just didn't wait around for responses. When one sets off a bomb, a smart person doesn't stand over it to see if it went off. Marcia and Riette, I apologize. If that bomb of mine brought such a light response, you are ladies in the classic sense. I withdraw every unkind thing I said.
~lance8 #158
BTW: Alexander- You are an old world gentleman to defend the ladies so pointedly. I just prefer to open things up at the outset in order to elicit responses. Inordinately Puckish of me, but that's me!
~MarciaH #159
What are your interests, Lance? And why here? Which one of the pictures down the sides so you think I might resemble? I am delighted that you are back!
~MarciaH #160
You must make me a little nervous...that should have been "which picture DO you think I might resemble?!"
~lance8 #161
Thank you. I believe that you are right in which picture you must resemble. I read what you said about liking the floor.
~lance8 #162
My taste runs to women with their own style, whatever that may be. Older, younger, any color; I was not lying when I intimated I had a little experience. Style matters most.
~MarciaH #163
You and I share much in common. I am happier than ever to meet you here *smile*
~MarciaH #164
Might I give you a Hug? *H U G *
~MarciaH #165
Oh dear....I am afraid I have scared him quite away! Maybe I should not come on so strong with strangers...
~lance8 #166
No dear, just got hung up on another part of this Spring. A long posting. I just L*O*V*E hugs. Back atchya!
~MarciaH #167
~lance8 #168
Unfortunately, the witching hour has arrived, and I must fly far to feed well this night, so aloha for now.
~MarciaH #169
Big H*U*G*S in that case and a world of affectionate thanks...
~MarciaH #170
It gets lonely in here so I think I should sit in the corner and see if anyone checks to see if I am here. If they do, they don't leave any notes or anything...
~MarciaH #171
Things were really good in Geo...about all day people were posting and that is a really GOOD thing. I think we outdid Drool today...! I have some really neat new topics which are so enticingly adaptable to the far out that they appeal to all sorts of people who are not usually attracted to Geo. Then we got posting on Organic Gems because Lance came over there and he KNOWS black pearls. It was really fun. I typed my little fingers off and stretched my mind at the same time. My favorite thing to do (Not the finger off thing...)
~MarciaH #172
Think I might go back there and polish the stones and admire the goodies put there in July and remember how and when and stuff like that...olive...
~autumn #173
I think I sense a love connection right here at the spring! Welcome, Lance, you puckish boy, you!
~MarciaH #174
*grin*
~aschuth #175
*BTW: Alexander- You are an old world gentleman to defend the ladies *so pointedly. How DARE you call me names! ;=} You buy the next round, I'd say. And welcome to the Spring!
~MarciaH #176
*applause* It is so nice to see civility amongst men of good will and intelligence...*smile*
~MarciaH #177
~MarciaH #178
E w e
~aschuth #179
Hey, and you lady, don't call me Will! ;=}
~MarciaH #180
yessir! *hug*
~MarciaH #181
Food looks splendid, now. Wipe your feet before entering - or, better still, take off your shoes like we do here! It is lovely and classy and as inviting as the posts there. Visit, please, and say something!
~MarciaH #182
To those of you who are Welsh and those of us who just love and admire them, Happy St. David's Day! Put a leek in your hat!
~MarciaH #183
Cymru am Byth
~lance8 #184
Marcia! Oh, Marcia! Wherefore art thou, oh, Marcia? Methinks thou art in Cymru, where the dragons of old still linger. Beware, for the scions of auld Gwynneth still abound, and they'll sweep a lass off her feet quicker than the Fairies.
~MarciaH #185
I am counting on it....!
~MarciaH #186
...as I wait in my tower for rescue from the dragons within....Prithee do not make light of the scions of Gwynneth....my heart lies there.
~lance8 #187
As I am one of those scions, I do not make light, but merely give fair warning. Those who can trace their ancestry thus are fair-seeming outside, but are steel inside. That's why we scared Caesar out of his wits and out of Britania.
~MarciaH #188
You did, indeed. They decided you were not worth the fight and sulked back across the Severn. That is why Wales has meant so much to me for so long... and now I know a real one with that hard honest steel inside. I like that!
~lance8 #189
Now, now. We all know Wales has no iron for steel. We have Tin, Coal, Copper, and a little Gold, for Bronze and Gold jewelry.
~MarciaH #190
The steel grows in the hearts of their men and women. And I have seen it flash from their eyes, as well. You have iron of the most worthy sort. Ec=xcalibur was forged out of "bog iron" which is really meteoritic.
~MarciaH #191
(sheesh! Excalibur is the sword in question, of course! Men of Gwynneth maketh me a little rattled when it is late at night.)
~aschuth #192
[You guyth! Uthing thuch thwollen language, thraight from the bard, no? Hi Lance.]
~MarciaH #193
Aloha Alexander! Lovely to see you in these parts again =) Btw, did you read the lengthy explanation John gave to your question of who said a particular quote. He said no apology was necessary (but he chewed off my ears before that, so I thought I should be doing all of the apologizing...being from Venus and all...*grin*) Lance will be popping in from time to time as his studies permit. Real life intruding on my life again!
~MarciaH #194
You don't thuppothe that the Bard lithpthed, do you? He used Prithee a whole lot...hmmm....
~aschuth #195
What explanathion where?
~MarciaH #196
You put a quote in Today/23 and asked who had said it. I posted a long and a little petulent answer and John and I were worried that we might have upset you with the little request for an apology - which is totally in jest. He did answer you most thoroughly!
~MarciaH #197
~MarciaH #198
~MarciaH #199
U
~lance8 #200
Alexander, you seem like my kind of nut. Try pronouncing Prithee with a long I sound. Maybe it should be,"Prithee, madam, What is your prithee for thy favors?" Marcia, hon, I now you aren't like that, but if you know any, maybe Alexander would like to get a phone number. [evil chuckles...]
~MarciaH #201
*innocently wide-eyed* Sir, I do not know to what you refer. I am sure I know none! Knowing Alexander, he does not need my little book of phone numbers, man of the world that he is. *grin* Lance, honey, you do know mine or did you forget?
~MarciaH #202
*sigh* I always get in over my head then the men take their toys and go home. What am I doing wrong? *grin*
~sociolingo #203
And you sent me in here! *hee hee*
~sociolingo #204
I'm off to fall out of bed again. G'night.
~MarciaH #205
Betcha never would have guessed this about me...*grin* I was stunned!
~Ree #206
Is it just my eyes, or did someone above make the extraordinary statement that Alexander's one nut resembles his????
~MarciaH #207
Uhoh...Better check. (Lance)Alexander, you seem like my kind of nut. If this is the comment in question, it roughly translates from slang American to you are my sort of odd person (a kindred soul, so to speak!) What an interesting comment it could be reading it your way - which just might be what was meant...gotta wait for Lance's return!
~aschuth #208
I just guess Lance 'n' I will hafta compare notes on that topic.
~MarciaH #209
*rubbing my hands in anticipation* Gentlemen, Please make yourself comfortable and feel free to use this space to compare your notes. (yipppee!!!)
~MarciaH #210
So much for rubbing my hands in anticipation. Wonder if I could borrow that pointy hat and magic wand (watchit!) and summon up another half of a conversation...! Lance? Are you out there comparing "things" with Alexander or are you just hanging around waiting for something new to read? Me, too!
~MarciaH #211
For the special angel out there who watches over the place and me...
~lance8 #212
I wasn't lurking. I just checked in and found you've been talking about magic wands. I thought there were lots of them around. Just check any man. Problem is, is there any magic left in that particular wand?
~MarciaH #213
You mean magic wands run out of the magic stuff? I had not thought so...!
~lance8 #214
Why do you think wands become noodles?
~MarciaH #215
*sigh* I did not know that they did if you treated them properly...! (So much to learn and so little time...)
~lance8 #216
Most men and women don't treat them right. That is part of the problem.
~MarciaH #217
Can you give me guidelines for proper care and tending of such a marvelous instrument? I am all eagerness to learn!
~lance8 #218
Gentle handling, warm baths, and lean fuel for it's owner are good. Also, some men like to concentrate on just one area on top, while others like to take the long view many times. Learn the owners likes and follow them, not your own as a rule.
~MarciaH #219
Of course...and I would be most attentive to those needs. *sigh* All lathered up and no place to go...*sigh*
~lance8 #220
Sorry, dearie; Nothing in the world is long enough to reach through the web to help tonight.
~MarciaH #221
I know...*sigh* But the fact that you wish it were not so makes all the difference...
~MarciaH #222
Might more than two participate? Think I can find a third!
~lance8 #223
Male or female third?
~MarciaH #224
I was thinking of male, actually...
~lance8 #225
If you want to be th3e filling of a sandwich, for you, I might try it.
~MarciaH #226
Oh *g a s p* my
~MarciaH #227
Let me dream about that...WOW!!! Aloha, Lance. Thanks for the interesting conversation! Y'all come back, now...*smile*
~autumn #228
Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!
~MarciaH #229
*blush* *blush* *blush*
~lance8 #230
Hey Autumn: If I can make Marcia blush like that on the net, just think what I could do to someone(like you)in person!
~MarciaH #231
*ahem* i thought you thought I was special...*sob*
~lance8 #232
You are, dear. But autumn sounded like she wanted to join in.
~MarciaH #233
Ah...I am a friendly sort. Perhaps that will be alright, but I don't like to share...not everything!
~sociolingo #234
really dear? so why did you send me in here???? *big grin*
~sociolingo #235
Hi autumn *grin*
~MarciaH #236
oh no...*gasp*
~MarciaH #237
Maggie, I sent you in here long before Lance came on the scene...that you have come back is of your own volition.
~sociolingo #238
touch
~sociolingo #239
Goodbye
~MarciaH #240
You are welcome here and any other place on Spring. Please make yourself comfortable - or at least drop by now and again. Don't want the place to wither and die from lack of enthusiasm and all that...*hugs* Maggie
~autumn #241
(bemused)
~MarciaH #242
Oh, Autumn...you need to read something in that conference we do not go to much but always privately and candidly....much is explained there. Also bemused.
~MarciaH #243
I have been given an either / or proposition by house mate. Cease and desist from any further email with Lance or....
~MarciaH #244
~MarciaH #245
May I please ask that http://www.spring.net/today/index.html be at least inaccessable for those not logging in. I amsure that is why I am in dire straits today. Anyone can go to spring main page and click on it. Everything I have said incriminating lately is right there. Thanks - now that the horse is out might as well lock up the barn. I'm off to live as a hermit with someone I am having trouble looking at in the morning.
~MarciaH #246
Never mind...leave it... It's ok, I suppose.
~sprin5 #247
Are you sure? Final answer?
~wolf #248
that dude sure has some problems, marcia. i believe removing it will only make you look guilty, which you are not, of anything that one would be imagining!
~MarciaH #249
That is why I decided to let it stand and said Never mind. Besides that, R never goes onto the Internet. He is sure it is a den of iniquity or a mass of ads even though he knows I find good stuff (his opinion) here. So be it. The fewer hostile eyes the better. *Hugs* for saying that. Think Shakespeare said something about protesting too much ( thus appearing guilty even if not). Yup, The dude has insecurity problems bigger than he is, but not bigger than I am! *grin* Feeling much better this morning.
~MarciaH #250
Leave it as it is, Sprin5. Thanks for taking notice and responding. Thing are cool this morning, and I think it is a fun place to read things. Let it stay as it was created. *hugs* for asking.
~sprin5 #251
I'll append some more stuff to it, a slow loading page?
~wolf #252
i'm glad you feel better today! *HUGS*
~wolf #253
and speaking of slow loading, sprin5, what's up with the main page? it seems to take longer than usual.
~MarciaH #254
The magicians are working on it! That's what one of them told me once*grin*
~sprin5 #255
Too much code, I need to redo it from scratch.
~MarciaH #256
Wow...it's like learning a foreign language! That was what kept me from getting my license in the first place. That, and I was very young and no one else was learning it with me. It is very hard to learn if your are doing it alone - at least, it was for me! I understand!
~lance8 #257
To Wolf and sprin5 : Thank you for supporting Marcia in this troubled period.
~MarciaH #258
Hi! Imagine my surprise and delight to see you had posted. *hugs*
~lance8 #259
All I have time for right now. Too much typing. Had to make sure you were OK, tho. *xo*
~MarciaH #260
x0x to you, too, Sweetie! Thanks for checking in and posting!
~MarciaH #261
...ooops, I mean thanks for posting, Lance *wink*
~MarciaH #262
It is a few hours since Lance posted and I have read his love and kindness in his concern for me many times over. I am truly blessed with the most remarkable friends on earth. I am feeling all warm and fuzzy. Thanks guys (all of you)! *Big Hugs*
~MarciaH #263
Lance, in case you come looking for me - I am not on Spring for a few days. Please email me that you are doing ok. I am concerned at hearing nothing from you in 2 weeks...
~MarciaH #264
And, for the rest of you, please make yourselves comfortable. I'll be back wiwi-wiki
~sprin5 #265
We'll miss you if you're not on for a few days!
~MarciaH #266
Thanks! The house male awoke very dizzy and with as fever this morning. I sent him back to bed and it is likely I shall be here while John brings me the game by radio and local TV (tape delay later tonight)
~MarciaH #267
Hi, luv...make yourself comfortable and I'll be back as soon as I can...I've missed you...very much...!
~sprin5 #268
What game? How did it turn out?
~MarciaH #269
We lost....we managed to seize defeat from the jaws of victory again against our arch rivals - the U Hawaii Honolulu Rainbows (the ones TX declined to play)
~MarciaH #270
*sigh* we lost all three home games and will now go to their home field for the finale. Gonna be a blood-bath, I fear! Oh, Baseball, is the game!
~sprin5 #271
Wait a minute, "seize defeat from the jaws of victory"? I though UT had that patented?
~MarciaH #272
Perhaps we have developed our own Polynesian Permutation - but the end result is the same. We lost a no-hitter 2-0 They had NO hits and we had 5 hits. Go figure! We can get'um on base but cannot bring'um on home...*sigh* Wait'll next year!!!
~MarciaH #273
Hi Luv, I know it is gonna be a long weekend for you... If it is comfort, know that I care and know how hard it is going to be for you. *Hugs*
~lance8 #274
"Babe o' my heart, are you listening?" (to the tune of Peg o' my Heart)
~MarciaH #275
I am listening!!! *hugs*
~lance8 #276
Either my set-up is getting slow, or it's taking me too long to read these days. *ssslllluuurrrpppp & llliiiicccckkkkk*
~MarciaH #277
* G A S P * perhaps one of the magicians is working on it. I decorated my new conference ( which I cohost with Wolfie) - crafts! Check it out! I have missed you more than I thought....*SIGH*
~MarciaH #278
It would probably be better if you eat that messy stuff off Spring. You are messing up your keyboard, too. I'd ask what flavor, but I just might find out!
~MarciaH #279
Oh, Terry! UHHilo won the last game of the season aganist the UHManoa Rainbows. 7-2, if I remember correctly. It was a Bee-You-Tee-Full thing to behold! We played almost flawlessly and they were playing like we usually do! See, on any given day...!
~sprin5 #280
Wonderful, now if the Horns baseball team can perform in the Big 12 tourney.
~MarciaH #281
Gotta check on their standing and see how they are doing... Good luck! I'll be rooting for them!
~lance8 #282
WOW!! Sorry about that, folks. A redheaded Ice Cream gal shoved a popsicle in my mouth. What she could do with that popsicle!?!?!?!!!!!!
~MarciaH #283
*giggle* Nice try! but I prefer the other ...*sigh*
~MarciaH #284
and I appreciated it very much and return the sentiments (but not the ice cream to the redhead)
~lance8 #285
Sorry if I left a bad impression about Marcia. Inadvertant interruptions make things come out wrong. But what ice cream cones this one had!!!!!! Are anyone's worth drooling over besides our favorite Marcia, Marcia, Marcia??????
~MarciaH #286
MMM is your favorite flavor? I am all enchantment and happiness to know that. Thank you most kindly!
~MarciaH #287
Happy Armed Forces Day - and Thank You!
~MarciaH #288
I shall just add Happy Memorial Day to this - it is an anniversary of sorts for at least 2 Springizens. I'd just as soon forget it! Happy Indy 500 for you Speed Freaks and Car cruching fans. May you have an eventful day! Be safe...
~MarciaH #289
~MarciaH #290
If you haven't found the picture of me it is hiding in my travel category.
~MarciaH #291
~MarciaH #292
~MarciaH #293
~MarciaH #294
~MarciaH #295
Sorry MMM fans, I promise not to do all that deleting again. Was having 'informational' episodes last night and decided they did not need to be out here for God and everybody to read. * H U G S * Please consider yourself hugged by me for coming back to read whatever it is that happens on this topic. I am still trying to figure it out, myself *smile*
~MarciaH #296
Ok, cfadm, wolfie and I need your help. ASAP, please. remove the inactive hosts from the config file of SpringArk. One in particular should never have been included, and until the relative stranger we never got to know is gone I will not rest easily nor will Wolfie. We cannot remover her. Please remove Isabel.
~MarciaH #297
Has everyone seen my image where I hid it? If so I can remove it? Before I scare the animals and little children? I am very disappointed that no one commented on the scenery, at least...that bad was it???
~sociolingo #298
Course it wasn't! It was very pretty! Just makes HW look very mundane. Why remove it dear?
~MarciaH #299
Ooh... Thank, you Maggie! I wondered if anyone had seen it and were too apalled to mention it... I do not post my photo much because I hate to have my picture taken, and there are some around here who shall remain nameless *smile* who posted OLD pix and then nothing new. I shoulda posted one from college in that case!
~MarciaH #300
Btw, HW is one of those little villages which make all of the tourist brochures because it is so lovely, so don't cast aspersions...It is as lovely as H is in its own way... (yeah, I knew you did not mean me when you talked about"beautiful"... *grin*
~sociolingo #301
HW lovely???!!! I think you're in the wrong place dear!!! Now West Wycombe (Bucks) is owned by the national trust ands IS lovely. HW is like Slough, and Reading - planners blight! It's a big town not a village!!! Lane End IS a little village and I shall send you photos once they're developed. Now when are you going to get a 'proper' photo taken I wonder? You know, close up, in focus??? *giggle* (Ouch that hurt!!)
~MarciaH #302
Oh - how sad! I am all disappointment. I thought you were all Chiltern stone and thatch with pub at one end of High Street and the Church at the other...sigh...
~MarciaH #303
Slough??? Yak!!!
~MarciaH #304
About that up-close and in focus photo...in another life time to post on Spring! I think I can find one to send you...but don't count on it.
~sociolingo #305
Yup my village is like that (without the thatch I'm afraid) including two duck ponds, cept for where I live in the village which is 1970s red brick. (Remember my study for Wycombe council on deprivation in affluence? I hope the photos come out. I thought you sed you'd been to HW?? did you mean West Wycombe which is a few miles along the A40, and has West Wycombe Park (which I've never been to!) and the church with the golden ball where one of the Dashwoods had naughty parties. We sometimes go and sit up there and picnic. The field opposite my house is owned by the Dashwoods and is part of the estate. Hughenden Manor is also near Wycombe and was the home of Disraeli. Couldn't find much about Wycombe on the net. There was one not too good photo of West Wycombe park, but not the village.
~sociolingo #306
waiting .... (thanks for not hitting me!)
~MarciaH #307
Not a Castle Coombe kinda village then...*sigh* It has been another lifetime since I was last in Britain...How I would love to return!
~sociolingo #308
Well.... there's still the insurance money .....*grin* I spose hadrians wall IS on the way to Scotland ....
~MarciaH #309
Love to do Hadrian's Wall, actually. Your suggestion of summer or late spring or early fall would be splendid. And, it will be good to have T along in case we get tired...he can carry us *grin* ...or we can carry him...!
~sociolingo #310
hee hee! Oh BTW the Edinburgh Festival is on when we're up in August! I've already arranged for tickets to the Tattoo to be got. There's loads of street shows and stuff, and we can get the train in from Dunfermline. Still waiting to hear how much the endowment insurance policy will pay out ...... (T's grinning!) Corbridge looks like a good base for Hadrians Wall. (Look for the postie dear, I went to the tourist office there for you). Just north of Corbridge is my favourite bit of roman road with several blind summits - the A68. Part of another roman road goes alongside Hadrian's Wall west from Corbridge. We've never had the time to check it out. Of course, York is on the way to Corbridge ....... I really want to go to the Jorvik Centre to see the viking exhibition, and see the medieval shops and, and, and ..... BUT august is tourist season, and B&B prices go up! (there's no travelodge with the half price (25 a room per night) offer nearer than Pontefract (15 miles from York)
~MarciaH #311
Fantastic, but if we hike so do you! Your trip sounds like a dream. Imagine living there and having to tread on history every time you walk somewhere. It still blows my mind (rather an easy thing to do these days...*sigh*) Ok, this tail-gun Gemini is about to have a really bad evening - and I thought last night was bad. Oh well, perhaps I'll eventually develop rejection callouses and these things won't hurt me so much... Cfadm, I just could not handle the "new" marble I found and it was difficult to read through. If you ever want to use it...let me know. I found some neat "coprolite" horizontal bars on Dancing Mouse and think they look a bit better. I also found some nearly invisible ones there which Wolfie thought looked like chewed-on straws. They sorta did, actually! I miss you...
~MarciaH #312
~MarciaH #313
Sorry, just musing ... Anyone out there would like to sign in andn just say Hi? It IS my birthday...
~sociolingo #314
Yup! I'm up early cos of you, and just sent you a birfday card!
~MarciaH #315
Thank you Dear Sweet Maggie. I am sleeping alone again...it is getting so bad I hate doing his laundry! I am glad you are here - not much of a birthday, huh?!
~sociolingo #316
NICE TO HEAR YOU!!! You sound like you write, but funnier! Glad I got up early!!! Liked your bikini!!!! *grin* At least you have the figure to wear it!!! Have a nice day now.
~sprin5 #317
Happy Birthday Marci!!! You deserve the best. I hope this a wonderful day for you.
~MarciaH #318
Wow! Thank you! *hugs* (still waking up) Shall I do the volcano today with digital cam in tow??? I was offered to do whatever I wanted to do...
~MarciaH #319
Terry, Maggie and I used voice chat last night on Yahoo. I could not hear her (mic problems) but she said I sound loud and static-free. It was hilarious. She typed her responses and I spoke and had appropriate music in the background. If I can talk to England I can talk to anyone! Just a slight lag.
~sociolingo #320
Well, did you have a good day - any pix? HUG
~MarciaH #321
Oh, Maggie, Did I have a day!!! Have messages waiting for me from the new friends I made yesterday...I behaved! I taked Cricket with a gentleman from Trinidad who plays, taked baseball with a guy in Michigan who plays and coaches Little League, talked stuff with a college student, and ducked a boor who decided over 40 was "You're OLD!!!" from London (not English!) and had to limit my contacts to 5 repeaters. One came back to talk before he went to bed. Tell Hannah I was talking good stuff anot encouraging purient thinking. Today we to to the Volcano, wx permitting, and the camera goes along. In Fact, The camera will go with me when I go anywhere!
~sociolingo #322
I am SO pleased!!!! My prayers were answered after all!!! No postie yet then??? Over 10 days to get to you again!! I'm getting lots of interest in Africa which is really nice. My little Mexican girl messaged via Hannah last night to say she had told her Dad her bad news. Long walk this evening with E & boyfriend which was good. VERY tired now. SO ratty. Set up own email box at long last. Now 4 fighting for computer!!!
~MarciaH #323
Sheesh! You guys should sleep in shifts so you keep the peace!
~sociolingo #324
He finished emailing at midnight! More family discussions on the way. At least this clears my box of his emails. How was the volcano?
~autumn #325
Happy (belated) birthday, Marcia!
~MarciaH #326
Thanks, Dear!
~MarciaH #327
Aloha Andrew! Wish you would login and join me here *smile*
~MarciaH #328
It is safe for you here, luv......He no longer lurks and threatens. email explains..... Please come back to conversation!
~MarciaH #329
Fugu.....please come back! All is safe and well... x0x
~MarciaH #330
*hugs* Andrew...I told you I posted once....this is the second one to you. Remember yesterday? You didn't get any sleep...!
~MarciaH #331
All you lovely men who lurk but never post, this is for you!
~MarciaH #332
If no one will talk to me I'm gonna post other men's stuff here. I love this one: Natives who beat drums to drive off evil spirit are objects of scorn to smart Americans who blow horns to break up traffic jams. -Mary Ellen Kelly
~MarciaH #333
In case anyone needs to contact me on IM of some sort and has not been into Geo, I am kilauea83 (and that is NOT my age - it was when the currect eruption began)
~MarciaH #334
~MarciaH #335
~MarciaH #336
oops...
~MarciaH #337
Happy Canada Day
~MarciaH #338
It only took three times to get it right. Must be that special man for whom I posted this making me very nervous. He has never been here, I think.
~MarciaH #339
For the manipulative men out there lurking to see how I am coping, you will not have another chance. There is only one man who has the intelligence and tact and class to meet my criteria for class. Most of the rest of you are not man enough to be worthy of the name!
~MarciaH #340
~MarciaH #341
....and for the rest of you darlings of the XY variety, please forgive the venting I did. I am a reasonable lady with a great sense of humor, quick intellect and I happen to think men were the most splendid creation ever. That said, please drop by and say hello. I am not good at monologues.

I wish for you... Comfort on difficult days, Smiles when sadness intrudes, Rainbows to follow the clouds, Laughter to kiss your lips, Sunsets to warm your heart, Gentle hugs when spirits sag, Friendships to brighten your being, Beauty for your eyes to see, Confidence for when you doubt, Faith so that you can believe, Courage to know yourself, Patience to accept the truth, And love to complete your life.

Please amend your AOL IM because when I changed to this big new super computer I managed to forget the password for Kilauea83 so I am now Kilauea83A. Please change or add me to your list. Thanks!
~MarciaH #353
If you tried to talk to me last night and did not see why I could not contact you, it is because my computer is new and the old speakers were left in place. The worked until I installed the software and now it is not working with any speakers and I cannot uninstall it either! As it now stands, I could have heard you (and How I want to do so!) but I would have been broken and you could have only understood a few words. Am stil working on the problem. If you are still interested in talking to me... (my devout hope is *yes*) pelase don't give up on me. I am working on it and accept all suggestions!!!
~MarciaH #354
I did NOT set this up... it was done for me by someone less computer-worthy than I by miles. I shall have the geek son check it this coming week... Green pickled 'fruit' with red pepper centers compliment female sheep
~MarciaH #355
Oh, bother...reinsialled the software and tried three different ways of setting it up. I can still hear the other side of the conversation, but I come through very broken...*sigh*
~MarciaH #356
reinstalled... (can you tell how frustrated I am? *Anguished look on face*)
~MarciaH #357
nothing changed on the audio front but thying to interpret a missing letter. A very vital one, actually... Going elsewhere secure to find out what is happening there...I think I know... *warm like you cannot believe smile*

Aloha Sweetie. Wait till your Birthday next week... You'll get Lei'd every which way and then some. Come back and see if I'm right. Or shall I hide it on Geo and make you hunt for it?! Thanks for today. It was a memorable conversation.
~ThinkingManNeil #370
It certainly made my day, kiddo! Charmed my socks off. You're quite the impressive lady, I must say, M., but you know that already. Oh, and so as not to be rude to your boardmates who don't know me from Adam, greetings to everyone here from the Great White North!
~ThinkingManNeil #371
PS. A treasure hunt in Geo? Arrr, matey!
~MarciaH #372
Mmmmmmmm..I think that would be a great place to hide it. Now specifically what and where is my challenge and I have only 2 days in which to accomplish this bit of fun. Oooooh...something just occurred to me! What makes it Great? Size?... White? Snow year round?... North? Got that figured out. Great must be because YOU live there. *Hugs*

For those of you who wonder (as did I) about my status as the 3M Babe... (thanks, Barbara, for send this to me!) Now, we all know! November 19 : in 1971, on "The Brady Bunch," Jan feels she's always caught in "Her Sister's Shadow," but all her her efforts to top her elder sibling flop. From cheerleading try-outs to an essay contest, the insanely jealous middle sister just can't outshine (say it with me, won't you?) "MARCIA, MARCIA, MARCIA!"

~MarciaH #384
sigh... I noted your login. Next time I risk getting AM and IM you .... this is impossible. We NEED to talk...!!! I need to know what is going on!!

How did I miss saying that??!! Marshall, I have been bested by a stunning russet-haired beauty. How fitting, since Autumn was the first one to post in this conference after it was created. Hugs!
~marshallsmyth #391
Hi sweety. Looks like i missed chatting with you today. I love you. Thought of some new positions too :) oops, i mean um, positions to hold the lilikoa when squeezed, yea. that's it. kiss* :)
~autumn #392
Marcia, just an update--the russet was SO nineties...I've opted for chestnut locks this millenium. :-)
~MarciaH #393
Oh yes... and you can't believe who is showing up russet nowadays.... and such an ugly shade, too. Chestnut indeed! Nice classy change, m'dear!
~autumn #394
Doh! Have I stuck my foot in it?! I rather fancy a nice auburn...
~MarciaH #395
Auburn is always appropriate for ladies named Autumn. Especially when they are stunners and Very Special People like ours is =)

ThankYouThankYouThankYou Greg, I see that Kathy has been online. Wife? Daughter? Sister? Mother? Aunt? Sharing your last name surely qualifies her as a babe. Welcome! No need to lurk! Hi Rob, Liam, and anyone else who dares the depths of Spring to lurk here. Say something and you will have company straight away!
~MarciaH #402
Thank you for the Birthday wishes. I should have realized it when I know Wolfie would not remove all my M's. I feel so foolish and delighted that you did that. You did not forget and neither did I forget you! You have made it memorable! *Very Big Warm HUGS*
~Gregory #403
Marcia, Kathy happens to be my wife. She hangs in Dool. She's the one who got me started at Babes.
~MarciaH #404
Fantastic! It is nice to know. I started out in Drool, as well. Ah, a fellow Firthian, perhaps!
~terry #405
Wow a Drool/Babe relationship!
~MarciaH #406
How about that! Neat, huh!
~MarciaH #407
=) I see no T... =) Gotcha!!! *Big Hugs*
~MarciaH #408

~MarciaH #409
Lance, How could I forget to post your lei?! Shall I be flogged again? Hey kiddies, I get to lei him at the end of the year when we celebrate his brigh new shiny college degree!!! Hauoli Na Hanau, Walena Ginger / Purple Tips White and purple orchid, intermingled and woven together. Deliciously fragrant.
~AotearoaKiwi #410
Hi all Given that this topic is for her, Marcia surely would not mind if I promoted Geo would she? It is a lively place with seismologists, geologists, astronomers among others, and, if we ever managed to drag him in, a staff member of the Long Valley Caldera volcano monitoring team. Great place, massive wealth of information both current and past. http://www.spring.net/yapp-bin/public/browse/geo/all Rob
~MarciaH #411
Thanks, Rob! Imagine finding you here, of all places! I think I may have to deck the halls for you here as well as in Geo. *HUGS* for finding your way here and for posting. I am stunned!!! * BIRTHDAY ALERT * Rob is joining the adult population on December 2nd. Watch out ladies, he is fair game now! Poor Rob. I rather fancied him for myself and for Julie and for several hundred of his closest fans...
~terry #412
Hey, Rob and I share the same birthday, but I've long since joined the adult popopulation.
~AotearoaKiwi #413
Hi all I am not fair game for all. Especially when I already got game in my sights but have a bit of waiting to do before I set sight on either. Rob
~MarciaH #414
Oh Terry, you've only been in the adult ranks long enough to be interesting! Dot is a lucky woman. You're the first man on MY babes list to get married, I think. Well, within the creation of the list. Many men on it are married - of course! They are babes, and as such, they don't hang around unclaimed for long. ~*~ C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ~*~

~MarciaH #416
He has several hanging on his every word....
~MarciaH #417
William we miss you! You are in a class all by yourself. We miss you! I do particularly... *Sigh*
~wolf #418
look at all this activity in here! and lance should love that lei, it's beautiful and i could nearly smell it! we've got to post a b-day list somewhere!
~MarciaH #419
I heard from Lance! He graduates soon. Perhaps I can get him back to talk pearls, but he is going into the diplomatic service, I think. It HAS been a long time since you were last here!
~MarciaH #420
Lance has not been anywhere in Spring since last year. *Sigh* Oh well, he is very busy! Welcome back, Wolfie. *HUGS*
~wolf #421
*hugs* back atcha!
~MarciaH #422
Now, if only some of the lurking gentlemen would come for their hugs, life would be a lot sweeter. *Sigh* I'm still waiting. *Hugs* Wolfie. It has been a difficult year.
~wolf #423
indeed! *HUGS* to our lurkers as well!
~Gregory #424
Hugs to you also Marica. It's been awhile I haven't look for Faith Hill Pic's lately, so I haven't written to you for help or anything. I've just been lurking as you would call it. If I don't get the chance have a Happy Holiday Season.
~MarciaH #425
Thanks, Greg! Season's Greetings to you, also and Big Holiday Hugs. Cheer is best shared! I am hoping our lovely Faith Hill will have a special of some sort soon, but I guess motherhood is the most special of them all, and I will try to be patient. Lurk away, Dear... you have plenty of company!
~sociolingo #426
Hi Marcia ...
~aa9il #427
and howdy from me too 73 de Mike r-c-i
~MarciaH #428
Hi Guys!!! Maggie! Which continent are you on? I thought you had disappeared into the dark recesses of Reading. I've not heard from the denizens there for a long time! Mike! Wow! You do wander far afield. Yes, I know - how did I get here? I just woke up one morning and here I was. Hugs both, and thanks for dropping by!
~sociolingo #429
Been in lodgings for five weeks .. no access to internet. Now in new apartment in Reading .. so look for me online! hugs Maggie
~wolf #430
are you in africa maggie?
~sociolingo #431
No wolfie ..I wish I were. I am still in the UK. My life has been very complicated lately. Would value your prayers. My eldest daughter got married in september and they have bought our house. Because of sale problems in the chain of the apartment we were buying we ended up homeless. Someone from church took us in. We have just moved into our apartment which is near the university in Reading. I'm still trying to finish my thesis ..then we're off to Switzerland for French study and then, hopefully back to Mali in africa long term. That's a short version!
~MarciaH #432
Wow!!! *HUGS* Maggie. My stuck-in-status-quo life is thankfully much less full of uncertainties than yours. I know you do not flourish in such circumstances, as I also do not. Prayers are assuredly comming for your well-being. Any other weddings in the offing?
~sociolingo #433
Yup, Hannah plans to marry when she qualifies as an accountant. She has her first professional exam this week.
~wolf #434
i'm glad to know that things did work out despite some hard times. your prayer request has been heard! *HUGS*
~MarciaH #435
Absolutely marvelous news!! No "Old Maids" in your family, Maggie (What an offensive and antiquated notion!) Now to get YOUR life back on track...
~MarciaH #436
*GRIN* I have a Christmas surprise planned for Geo. I thought of it last night and have a sticky note to remind me. I ran the idea past the house creature, and it passed with flying colors. Now, how many days before Christmas should I intall it??? Hmmmmmmmmm. *pondering*
~sociolingo #437
Thanks Sweeties ...yes Prayers do work .. I just tend to be somewhat impatient!!!! Actually the time in odgings was really good and we've adopted another member to our family. ...We're going back there in January to dog sit for a few weeks!
~MarciaH #438
Wow!! Or should I say Bow Wow?! Not a huge dog, I hope. The dogs of Britain are the best-mannered in the world, as far as I know, and far better trained than a lot of children I could mention. I know you will lose your heart, again!
~sociolingo #439
Grin ..No Lara is a rather elderly cross-bred. That's why we'll stay nights at Bridgets and work at home. She's too old to go into kennels. Lara is so well trained you can take her for walks without a lead. She's Bridgets constant companion so needs special care. We're both very fond of her. HOWEVER, during our stay at Bridgets we did have an ENORMOUS pyrenean mountain dog/saint Bernard cross called a Leonbergher. His name was Boy and he was a big cuddly teddy bear. bridget boards dogs (among other things) and I found I was surprisingly good with them. I think we had about 7 during our stay. We may have some of the boarders to stay whilst we look after Lara! But not the BIG one.
~wolf #440
oh marcia, i can't wait! maggie, i couldn't possibly be a foster parent for dogs--i would keep every last one of them!
~sociolingo #441
Well these dogs all have very loving homes, they just need somewhere to stay for odd days or weeks whilst their owners are away. Staying as paying guests in a home where they are loved and cared for is a better option than going to boarding kennels. I am just so amazed at how well I managed so many different dogs. I think the most we had was five at one time.
~MarciaH #442
Five?! I AM impressed. All I can picture is Maggie being dragged down the mais street of town being pulled by 5 eager dogs - rather like huskies pulling an Eskimo sled. What a thought! Sounds lovely, actually. I know you will like having their company!
~sociolingo #443
Giggle ...there is only ONE house dog ... Lara ..the others are paying guests. Actually Tony and I can manage three or four between us depending on the personality of the dogs involved. There is NO high street .. this is in the midst of the country! There should only be Lara when we go and dog sit. HUGS Maggie
~MarciaH #444
Woooooo!!! Now I see you running across fields of wildflowers with the ribbons in your hair trailing behind. One is good. Two humans is better. Woooof!!!
~sociolingo #445
he he ...wish I could talk to you on yahoo though .. or AOL (sociolingouk)

~sociolingo #448
Hi Marcia ...have you had my emails ... nothing from you for ages ....still big sister?
~AotearoaKiwi #449
Hi all How was New Year for my lovely Hawaiian friend?? I went to the beautiful Molesworth Station as you know and had a couple cans of Canterbury Draught (the best of the not very many beers I have tasted), while Mum and Dad had a bottle of red wine, to see out 2001 and see in 2002. Absolutely GLORIOUS weather with not a hint of the heavy rains, thunderstorms and landslips that set in a couple days later. Marcia, can you please e-mail me because I am a bit concerned about your invisibility on Messenger. Just so I know you are safe and well. I am fine, the weather is not - (Thursday December 27) thunderstorms, (Friday December 28) thunderstorms with isolated hail, (Saturday December 29) thunderstorms, torrential rain, (Wednesday January 2) thunderstorms with sheet lightning, (Friday January 4) thunderstorm, (Saturday January 5) thunderstorm with VERY heavy rain and some hail. To see my epic story telling effort and Marcia's kind efforts to provide links go to GEO conference "Floods and other Hydro Hazards" - THANK MARCIA!!! Rob
~MarciaH #450
Hugs Rob!!! Wheeeee! New Year was quiet except for the neighbors entertaining us with illegal skyrockets. I said OOOOH and AHHHH just as I am supposed to do. Lovely display and no fires set. I also did not see the ambulance arrive, so it was innocent fun with just a touch of air pollution. Thank you for asking. Anything fireworks in Christchurch, my most esteemed and delighful Kiwiland geologist? Do you think your beer consumption and the drastic rise of water have any connection? (I tried adding you again to my list. I think you are entered incorrectly since I downloaded the upgrade from Yahoo. I'll email you immediately! I'm just sorry I did not see this sooner!) *Hugs again*!!!
~MarciaH #451
Success, My Dearest Rob... I just found your login on an old message and reposted it. I think I will not disappear again. I miss talking to you and imagining your being upside down sticking down off the globe. I guess that means I am sticking out sideways...
~wolf #452
*giggle*
~MarciaH #453
I was laughing as I wrote that. I guess only Santa Claus stands up atraight or some Aleut living 22-24 from true north... or is that from Magnetic north?!
~wolf #454
i dunno....i've wondered if they know they're upside down! *laugh*
~AotearoaKiwi #455
Hi all Marcia (Message 110): I table dance in Hawaiian attire by appointment only. Rob (reaching for the phone to dial Air New Zealand bookings): WOW!!! Now THERE is something I want to see. Not heard of much of late that would be that entertaining. Let's see *musing*, Lord of the Rings is a great yarn by J.R.R Tolkien produced as a film for the big screen by New Zealand film maestro Peter Jackson, and gets a rating of 9/10. Cate Blanchett's performance was not as great as expected, though otherwise the movie was superbly done and contrary to the critics who loathe the violence and say it is unsuitable for children, the movie actually makes a great fantasy. Now, Marcia. May I make an appointment to see my gracious Hawaiian friend table dancing?? Rob
~AotearoaKiwi #456
Hi all The lack of a reply suggests I should not have mentioned it. *Bows head and pleads forgiveness from the Great One* Rob
~wolf #457
huh? what'd i miss?
~wolf #458
ooooooooohhhhhhhhh!
~MarciaH #459
ROB!!! I just discovered your post! Definitly not a negative for you. I am very select and private when it comes to dancing on my tables =) Y'all come!
~MarciaH #460
(Do you think the blood rushed to their head living upside down like that all the time? Or are they like the Nile catfish that swims that way on purpose? *Sigh* so much to learn!
~MarciaH #461
Rob, what are you doing reading way back to post 110. It'll surely rot your sensitivities and I'll catch it from all sides.
~MarciaH #462
*sigh* all of the wrong stuff disappears, huh! Talk about my past coming back to haunt me!!
~MarciaH #463
About the table dance... there is only one person who has pride of place at the front of the line. The table is polished to a mirror-shine. Your dancer awaits!
~MarciaH #464
For the man who believed in me enough to create this space and turn me loose on it to do as I would, this is for you: (I hope he sees it)
~Gregory #465
I would think he will. Happy Valentines Day To You Marcia!
~MarciaH #466
Same to you, Greg! Thanks! (I think he did, also!)
~SBRobinson #467
Hi Marcia! Happy Valentines Day! :-) *long distance hug*
~MarciaH #468
*Hugs* Backatch, EsBee - Gasp! I owe you a serious email. Will get to it shortly.
~SBRobinson #469
LOL -thats okay, i probably wont have time to read it (asumeing it is espisle length) till tomorrow anyway! will watch for it :-)
~MarciaH #470
Oooh, did that guy call back? The one who couldn't live without you? Or is this a more worthy suitor? You gotta check with me, remember! *HUGS*
~AotearoaKiwi #471
Hi all Bit late, but to all who did not receive something in their e-mail, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! Rob
~MarciaH #472
Thanks Rob! See you at Cricket later today. (For me Valentine sentiments go on 24/7/365 so be prepared!)
~MarciaH #473
Happy Birthday Hugs, John
~MarciaH #474
Oddly enough, John has never been here and I think he does not know it exists. Should I tell him? Or, shall I let him think I am a proper lady? *sigh*
~AotearoaKiwi #475
Hi all How is O Gracious one today? Rob
~AotearoaKiwi #476
Hi all If you don't invite John, then I will.... You know you want to *GRINS*.
~MarciaH #477
Oh Rob..... you have found me out. Yes, I do, but John thinks I am a lady andI would hate to disillusion him in any way. Heheh... See topic concerning my top 5 male Babes (give or take a few)
~lance8 #478
My, my. It has been a while since I've been here. How's my favorite babe doing?
~MarciaH #479
Lance, Luv - Wow !!! Welcome back. I have missed you more than you can imagine! Congratulations on your college degree. Come here and let me give you a big *hug* of aloha. Next week I can do it for real! He graduates and I get to have all the fun*;)
~lance8 #480
Well, There you are! Babe o' me heart, can you please answer a question for me? What happened to topic 18 on Geo? It seems to have disappeared from the list.
~MarciaH #481
You found it. How much we have missed you, Dearest Lance. My heart is restored to beating in 3/4 time. *Hugs*
~MarciaH #482
Thanks, Lnace, for a day and night I will never forget. I'm just sorry it was not a lifetime in length.
~AotearoaKiwi #483
Hi all Lance, I got a job for you. Help me make sure that the lovely hostess of Geo stays safe and sound in her patch. Marcia must be the luckiest woman on earth, with three men (John is the other) from all corners of the globe keeping a watchful eye on what goes on in Kapaka Street, Hilo. Not many women can boast three men watching out for her, and hopefully all being able to get on with each other. Marcia has done well but then again with charm and grace to put a dolphin to shame, how can she not??? Rob
~AotearoaKiwi #484
Hi all Don't worry about me Lance. I got my hands full in California with a fellow volcanophile, rockaholic and yes... Julie Gilbert. Rob
~wolf #485
*giggle*
~MarciaH #486
Oh my Dear!!! I am really not that difficult to keep track of but do appreciate the concern. Thanks Rob. You're such a dear! (John never comes here I think.) Lance is as good as they get. A true friend who still loves me after good and bad times.
~MarciaH #487
Well, enough of flattery. Lance is gone (but still in Hilo) and Rob is off pursuing the rockclimber in California. I guess that relegates me to being a gracious but lonely hostess. *sigh* John, if you see this, my warmest very special hugs for your resounding success yesterday with the Earthquake Prediction. All of Greece salutes him. He was fired upon by the "real" seismologists and proved better than they. He was on television, radio and in many news sources. My sorrow is that I can neither see nor read them (nor hear them either.) I saw a website "Learn Greek in 25 years." Fantastic! I might learn it in 25 years if I had that long to learn it. Alas I am monolingual and if it is not in English I am lost. Again Congratulations to John.
~AotearoaKiwi #488
Hi all Never lonely dear. Julie and I are nearby, despite the mass of water between us and you and you are in our hearts and living there. Honey, how can you possibly be lonely?? I have a four point plan for when you come to Christchurch. I have this idea of having my drivers license by then and driving you down the West Coast, to see the glaciers. I have resolved to get my learners this summer and my full license in the following summer, while using the gap inbetween to gain experience. Rob
~autumn #489
Which side of the road do you drive on in NZ, Rob? (I'm afraid I already know the answer...)
~AotearoaKiwi #490
Hi all Left side of the road like the British, Australians and Japanese. Speed limit is 100kph on motorways (and speeding tickets are imposed if you go past 110kph), 50 or 60kmh in cities depending on the road and where you are. Around schools the speed limit is 40kph. 31mph is about 50kph. 63mph is just over 100kmh (about 101kph). DON'T drink and then drive, and obviously co-operate with the police if you get pulled over. You will get fined $75 if YOU are found without a seatbelt on. I think the driver of a car with someone under 5 takes the rap. Rob
~MarciaH #491
Rob, you are such a dear and I do feel your warmth and comfort wiht Julie's and John's. And, of course, Lance's. How could I ever have imagined being lonely! I am rich beyond compare by this measure! Autumn, happy motoring. Been there and did that in the UK. Take along a handy converter!
~MarciaH #492
In the US the driver takes the rap for ANYONE in a moving car who is not in some safety restraint approved by the powers that be.
~MarciaH #493
I think all of GEO is a happily supportive family in whose presence no one will ever be lonely! We are very lucky. In that, I am truly blessed. We even have our very own Maharaja about whose safety I worry a great deal.
~AotearoaKiwi #494
Hi all It is a very good family and one you can trust. Marcia can run to us when she wants contact with overseas. Whats that song where there is the line: WE ARE FAMILY Rob
~MarciaH #495
YUP we are. It took some tugging to get you here, but has it ever been worth it. You have found a home all over Spring now. I am delighted. Beats the heck out of the rest of the Internet that I have been able to discern. *;) Hugs, Rob. I know you miss Julie. So do I.
~AotearoaKiwi #496
Hi all Julie is off taking a well earned break from the hard slog of school and I am happy that she is doing something she loves. While I am missing her I am happy in the knowledge that she is doing something close to her heart. Rob

Happy Birthday, Marcia!!!!!!
~Gregory #499
Happy Birthday a day late Marcia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~MarciaH #500
Thank YOU !!!! Happy Marcia!!! Fantastic friends!!!
~sociolingo #501
Marcia ... I sent loads of emails and an e-birthdaycard ... but no response ...please write me. Maggie
~AotearoaKiwi #502
Hi all Marcia dear. Can I talk to you sometime since Julie is nowhere to be seen (offline for a few days while she straightens her life out and lets her ankle get over the pain of the operation). I know I got exams but I need a stabilising influence that was usually provided by you and Julie. Rob
~MarciaH #503
Yikes! I am in the middle of the US with only my host's computer for company at the present. My son is repairing my laptop and I am sorry I did not go for a new one instead of all of this wasted time. I cannot talk to anyone except for AOL IM which I currently use until I get my laptop. Here I am at BluegrassHula@aol.com or screen name of BluegrassHula. Sorry Maggie, between the crashes and download problems most of my email got deleted. I can only heo I get it back when I get back on aloha.net via my host's server. Yahoo will be the first thing installed !!!
~lance8 #504
Rob, I plan to take special care with our GeoNymph. I just wish I could tell you all just how very special she truely is.
~AotearoaKiwi #505
Hi all Thanks Lance. I will have the fun of finding that out for myself in the US Spring of 2004 because I am aiming to visit when the weather improves then. Although I could go before then I want to put a bit more money in the bank first. Rob
~MarciaH #506
OOPS!!! *BLUSH* I gotta get this orbiting stuff down before 2004. Lance dear, I am in the next state over. Wave to me on the next rotation. Welcome back from Hilo, btw. How I'd love to see you...!!! Rob, a gentleman never tells... That's part of the fun! Defifinitely put the spendable stuff in the bank first. I have found it most necessary and convenient on this adventure I am on currently.
~AotearoaKiwi #507
Hi all Is Marcia getting impatient at the prospect of her laptop being nearly ready for her? I would be pretty impatient without being antisocial. Rob is waiting for you on Yahoo! IM and so is Julie. Rob
~MarciaH #508
Laptop is functional and working just fine. I caught up with the posts in Geo and am ready for some serious IM. Rob, I tried to get you to respond yesterday and even emailed you about it. Am I invisible to you, too? I have pared my contact list down to a few special people and Rob and Julie and JohnT are definitely there as is Brenda.
~AotearoaKiwi #509
Hi all You are invisible to me, though I have known you long enough that I thought you were in hiding so as to avoid troublesome types. My list has you, Julie, and Brenda, but I have a wide spread of friends from a Ph.D student who starts his doctorate at Canterbury in a few weeks time, to the volcanologically inclined (aka you, Julie, Peter Rinkleff, Petra (ringenaldus), hardin_r, Furies20, Hannah (szerelem02 - Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology)). Yahoo is mangling offline messages, so that I never get them. How you ask? Well, the dumb thing thinks I am online all the time, so I automatically receive the messages, when I am not. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! It infuriates me. Rob
~MarciaH #510
Rob, I have ahd the same difficulties with Yahoo offline messages. I don't ever seem to get them anymore and it was my best way of keeping in contact before! Yup I am often just lurking though I have pruned my contact list to just a few while I am on Don's modem. Pulling degree rank on me, are you? Do you REALLY wan to take me on in this category? More than likely not since you will surely lose! I'll keep myself visible. I talk to Greece and Pakistan on Yahoo. Surely you are available in New Zealand. Btw, if you leave your IM active it will not store offline messages because you are not Offline! Julie and I were puzling about why I could not get you until yesterday just in time for Don to use the modem connection. Arrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~AotearoaKiwi #511
Hi all I hate Yahoo! and Yahoo! hates me. We are even. And the other thing is Kentucky or where ever these messages are coming from is like 18 hours behind me so by the time I come on after University at say 3.PM my time, you are in bed or headed that way, and might I hope with Prince Charming. So there you go. 10AM here is at least 4.PM there possibly 5.PM so by the time I come online at 3.PM my time it is 10.PM in your patch. The cool thing about Hawaii was you were essentially 2 hours ahead of me except that Monday here was Sunday there. Sorry Marcia, but I cannot change the time zones. So this may become a regular pattern I am afraid. Rob
~AotearoaKiwi #512
Hi all Marcia dear, where are you? Lifes boring when there is no net connection at home and this is coming from a net cafe in town. The only thing that is stopping me from losing me sanity is I have a lot of work to do at University with my research group and it obviously has precedence. Rob
~MarciaH #513
Oh Rob! I'm terribly sorry I have been so neglectful. Bad things happening in Hawaii on a personal level have kept me hiding in books. I should know better and seek solace with friends like you. Hey! I saw a news item on the BBC World News on the PBS channel here. The Kiwis are ready to race for the America's Cup again! One stupid commentator asked rhetorically if anyone in New Zealand appreciated having won the cup. YES!!! Just look at the Jade copy they made to keep there! *HUGS*
~AotearoaKiwi #514
Hi all Fantastic weekend at Wainui, with very cool people. We were there to present research to judges, tutors and peers that was the culmination of a 2 month effort. Did well with every group getting a B+ or better for the poster, and B or better for the oral presentation. Second thing, yes the Louis Vuitton Challenger series to decide who will race against New Zealand is going ahead. Still in it's early stages, but I am sort of hoping Prada (Italy)will win, since the Italians are gentlemen. They challenged us for it in the 2000 races and were immensely popular with the locals. Third thing. I have finished my masterpiece, the great narrative of the AD 186 Taupo eruption. To see it shortly watch "Robs Geo World" topic on Geo. Rob
~AotearoaKiwi #515
Hi all Just tell me one thing. Are you okay??? Is HM behaving himself? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/worldvolcanism for one of the greatest things I have written to date. Rob
~MarciaH #516
HM waxes between furious and adoring and back again. Talk about being bi-polar. I need to get back to Hilo to get on with ending that stalemate and ridding myself of a huge house and holdings I no longer need. Yes, I am alright. Thanks for your concern. (did you postthat yahoo thing in Geo or do I have to snitch it?)
~AotearoaKiwi #517
Hi all Time for a babe check... Rob
~AotearoaKiwi #518
Me again Got to re-establish my babe list and modify it. Rob
~terry #519
Let us know the results, Rob.
~MarciaH #520
Babe of the 3 M variety checking in. I guess there are just too many things going on for some of us and I am undergoing tests to see what is wrong with me (other than missing Louisville) Hugs, Rob!
~autumn #521
What's going on with you, Marcia??
~terry #522
Hope you're ok! This has been a lingering illness hasn't it?
~Gregory #523
Hope you get to feeling better!
~MarciaH #524
Thanks guys! I am having severe side effects of new medications and not flu. I wish my doctor would change them! However, I think I am getting used to them even though it has taken several weeks of complete uselessness. I am back!
~alyeska #525
Glad to see you back.
~MarciaH #526
Thanks Lucie! I have gotten Marshall to post in the topic I created for him. He is now reading ... It is good to have him back. *HUGS* Marshall! It is good to be back!
~lance8 #527
I'm glad to see so many people interested in one of my favorite babes. Even if it sounds like a certain Kiwi would like to become a boyfriend! (lol, nudge in ribs) Seriously, to all who care for her, thanks for keeping M going for so long. I've been off and unable to do any writing. Keep up the good stuffs!
~MarciaH #528
I see you got it to work but is no longer, Lance? Is anyone else having trouble accessing this url? I get to it via http://www.spring.net/yapp-bin/restricted/browse/Babes/all/new to see if anything new has happened. The Kiwi is very dear, but no threat to you, Sweetie!
~lance8 #529
I think he sounds like a nice guy. You deserve to be on top of every man's babe list.
~Gregory #530
I haven't had any trouble with the regular path. The only trouble I've had is that the graphics of the babe is just a box with an X in it.
~MarciaH #531
I get all the stuff that should be there. Btw, Greg, did you see the Faith Hill interviews on E! channet? She is so gorgeous!
~MarciaH #532
You're right. I get that "where an image should be" pink and blue box (IE gives you that red X as I recall.) Another difficulty with changeover. I guess we all need to download that program to make our CRT secure.
~terry #533
Faith Hill is a babe indeed, which is why she's crossing over from country to the big screen.
~MarciaH #534
Even I enjoy looking at her! A babe of the first order, and VERY nice, too. She seems to have all her priorities right!
~lance8 #535
When I can find it on the list of conferences, it will display fine for me. The Menu list were driving me crazy. As for other women, Faith Hill is OK, but does anyone else think it is strange how Meridith Vierra is getting so much attention as a babe?
~terry #536
She stands out on "The View"
~MarciaH #537
She has no competition on The View - as a babe, that is! Aloha Lance! HUGS!!!
~lance8 #538
Back at 'ya, nymphette! And a kiss thrown in to boot!
~MarciaH #539
Oooh. Melting! 'Tis lonely in Hilo and I appreciate any and all affection!
~lance8 #540
Come to Tobacco Road, and you'll have your choice of men wanting you. Anyone over 25 here is also over 200 pounds. And I don't mean English ones!
~MarciaH #541
LOLOL It has to be the good Southern Cooking I have heard so much about. I'llcopme if you promise not to force feed me hominy! That stuff is nasty!
~lance8 #542
You just haven't had it fixed right. Hominy is just a type of corn. It's Grits that causes people problems. And Grits are just dried, ground, and bleached Hominy corn. In SC, Shrimp and Grits is a staple of the Low Country cuisine. BTW, when I mentioned the folk over 25 and over 200 lbs, I meant the women! The men are variable, but mostly normal sized. So, you'd have good hunting, but the women to choose from here makes me blanche. If you've heard about NC women being pretty, they are when young, but they all leave as soon as they are able for greener pastures. The kind green with Benjamins!
~MarciaH #543
Grits is good! My first encounter with Hominy was at KFC. It was being served like sweet corn so I took a huge spoonful. I though the whole kernels looked big. They were - and tasting strongly of alum or lye or some chemical. NO ONE else was eating it. I have not seen it served that way since! If they make it, I won't eat!
~lance8 #544
Where were they serving such dreck? Hawaii?
~AotearoaKiwi #545
Kia Ora Been a while since I was here. How are we all? Rob
~MarciaH #546
Welcome back! We have missed you many places on Spring. Do you eat fried okra? (likely not... but just asking) I'm in California temporarily. Off to Kentucky at the end of the week to look for more Appalachian lava!
~MarciaH #547
Great Truths with thanks to Wolfie ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other. THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it. FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye. SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married. SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight. EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely. TEN. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly. THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?" FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk. FIFTEEN. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze. SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions. EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship. NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice. TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.
~MarciaH #548
I try to do all of the above. My time alone, I spend on Spring *;)
~AotearoaKiwi #549
Kia Ora "I'm in California temporarily. Off to Kentucky at the end of the week to look for more Appalachian lava!" I was unaware that the Appalacchians had any volcanics - for some reason I have thought that there are no volcanoes in the US that are east of Yellowstone (most eastern of the recognised volcanoes). I assume there are some significant fault systems in the eastern United States because the Appalacchians look like multiple ranges on a map. Rob
~MarciaH #550
That is the whole point of the paper I am writing on this most curious subject. I found two good-sized pieces of a'a, one of which was attached to limestone and fossil reef. Around the Appalachians from West Virginia south, there are numerous sulfur springs. Some of them became famous health resorts, such as White Sulfur Springs, W Va. When you have a'a and sulfur deposits, can there be anything other than volcanoes as their sources? Makes for a very interesting study!
~MarciaH #551
The Appalachains appear as multiple ranges because they were once at the leading edge of a continental plate about 250 million years ago. That is far before Pangea was formed. More when my paper is complete.
~AotearoaKiwi #552
Kia Ora I shall look forward to it, as shall your domain in Geo. Rob
~MarciaH #553
Geo will get the benefit of my hard work. It is off-topic here, seriously!
~AotearoaKiwi #554
Kia Ora If I had to name a group of women who I have quiet admiration for, it would have to be the Dixie Chicks. Aside from the physically obvious reasons, it takes guts to stand up and say what you think about the US President in these times where it is apparently not okay to question DUHBYA. What little I have heard of their music was also very good, and they use instruments that most modern groups would not think of. Rob
~stacey #555
Damn Wolfie... I wish you would have sent those 'truths' a couple of years ago! It would definitely have saved us some cash spent on the marriage counseling! *grin*
~MarciaH #556
~MarciaH #557
Sorry! I know better than to discuss politics in polite society!
~terry #558
Welcome back once again. It's great you're back, Marci. I posted something about the National Geographic Special on the Earth's coming magnetic storm, which I found fascinating and will probably watch and rewatch. But I can't match your for volume and depth. I had hoped to keep it going more but it's quite a job to come up with the Geo stuff that you find, Marci. This stuff you talk about is *so* interesting!
~MarciaH #559
Thanks, Terry! I found excellent graphics on the Earth's geomagnetism and how a CME affects it. I do need to find it again and post it in Geo. I also find it interesting. I wonder if my teacher ever wonders what a beast he unleashed when he opened a Vacant "page" on spring and let me have a run with it. It has been splendid and more to come. More on my Kentucy lava and much more on American Folkways from the now-engrossed-in-his-book archaeologist.
~MarciaH #560
they are posted in Gaia Magnetosphere http://www.spring.net/yapp-bin/restricted/read/Geo/35.564
~MarciaH #561
Wow! Reading back through the posts here is like instant replay. I miss John! Lance, I will bring him back ASAP. Thanks everyone for being here!
~MarciaH #562
BTW, why does the front page to Babes Conference have squares where letters should be? It makes hunting for specific topics most difficult.
~admin #563
Marci, I had to drive a diesel truck to NYC and gave you a holler going through L Town! What's up? No answer.
~MarciaH #564
Oops! did you get our answering machine? We let it get rid of telemarketers. Or did you get a busy signal? Don was online working on his book. You might also have hit one of the few times we were out of the house. Bummer!!! Sorry to have missed you!
~wolf #565
MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA!!!! where are you twin?
~MarciaH #566
I am here, Sweetie! Happy Holidays and a big wolfie hug for you!
~MarciaH #567
A year of inactivity. That has to change. Who can I entice into posting...
~wolf #568
we just got to get the word on the street is all!
~MarciaH #569
we can do that !!! at Spring word travels swiftly. Thanks for coming in. WooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo HoooooooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo
~Gregory #570
I'll come back and post more. I would love to see get going again, I tried once with no luck.
~MarciaH #571
Thanks! I'll also look into how to ftp to Spring so I can add draphics on occasion. Back to the paranormal to add a few thoughts. Tis the season!
Help!
