Cancer's for
WEEKEND OF FEBRUARY 27
Follow an enchanting friend to a gathering despite your intolerance for
small talk. If anyone there can stimulate your intellect, you'll find
that person. Your social grace may remind an inattentive mate that
you've got other options. Eviscerate your regret for a missed
opportunity by pursuing it. Overspending could create another headache.
Prevent additional stress.

You may not know if you're coming or going today. And if you don't set priorities early, you're almost certain to be doing the one when you should be doing the other. Everybody's got an opinion about how things should be done. You can listen, but make your own choices.

Plan an exotic excursion with a loved one. A luxury cruise or a
Mediterranean vacation would give you plenty to look forward to, though
it's more important to repair to a place of peace and privacy. A control

it's not what works best for you. Instead of arguing, agree; then do
your own thing.

This may be the day to seek an exclusive arrangement if it's not

If you were a cow, it would be prime time to move on to new grazing
lands. If you were a monogamy buff, you'd now have temporary permission
to let your eyes wander far and wide to find out what you're
missing--and what you're not. If you were a journalist, it'd be a
perfect moment to stop forcing the raging ambiguity of real life into
neatly packaged news-bites. If you were an immortal god-like being who
had impulsively taken on a human form as an experiment only to have
forgotten your origins, you'd be on the verge of remembering the truth.

George horoscope for the month of March
(which, of course, is now over and I apparently missed the whole thing...)
Mid-month heralds, "Onward to a more dynamic
participation in life." More than "success,"
art is now at the core of your life. This
generates enthusiasm, which provides a much
better life fuel than bitterness. Emodying
your music, spinning your pots, and dancing
your paintings will make you wealthy. Then
creative expression gives rise to happy ambition.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): Be careful not to overwork yourself
to the point of exhaustion. If you get overloaded, there's no shame in
seeking help from co-workers to finish a project. The task may be
possible, but perhaps your approach is the wrong one. Disregard
the negative voices in your head, and instead, listen to other people's
ideas. Don't be afraid to start over. The finished product is what is
important in the end. No one will remember the hours put in, so it

Stick with the simple and familiar as the world around you grows

Sagittarius
You may have some difficulty dealing with others today, Sagittarius,
especially a boss or client. Whether or not he knows it, an authority
figure is driving you crazy. Try to keep a level head even though inside
you're steaming mad. Pay close attention to anything pertaining to
finances. Don't rush into anything you aren't sure of. Read between the
lines in legal or travel matters. Attention to detail is a must when
dealing with contracts of any kind. At the end of the day, relax with a
good book or rent a comedy. This is a good day to find something that
makes you laugh long and hard.

Your fire burns low today, but an ebb in energy doesn't have to slow down
your rich internal life. If the company of others seems abrasive, spend a
quite day completing solitary tasks at your desk and a quiet evening
alone. If you don't live on your own, you can still get quality time with
yourself. Take a long bath and go to bed early with a good book. Since you
may not be of much use to anyone else, take some time to figure out what

Cancer: There's always a little period AFTER a Mercury retrograde that
is, at best, a little unsettled. And guess what? You get to feel this one
more so than other signs. Not that it has a lot to do with you, but it
does. I was in El Paso once, having a cigar after a fine meal of barely
charred dead cow parts, and I got this little glint in my eye. Slightly
offbeat, slightly mischievous, slightly off center. It was the cigar, I'm
sure. You're just like I was that night, only, your buzz from the cigar
is going to feel like it lasts all month long. An extra cup of coffee, a
mild soporific substance, a little up, a little down, and your head
bursting with ideas. Try and pull all this together. I did what I do best
in a situation like that, I went back to the motel and watched Xena on
the cable TV. It's about all that was on. But there's more than reruns on
your cable TV -- you can do a lot more with strange ideas floating
through your cranium.

Flavor: Just about any flavor will do, but junk food, or its all-natural equivalent, will get their attention quickest.
Grocery store: Gemini is [are] ruled by Mercury. Mercury goes around the Sun every 88 days. Get the picture? Fast
moving planet, and most Gemini's tend to be fast moving as well. Imagine a shopping cart with motorized wheels,
like a skateboard with an outboard motor on it. The Gemini will flit through the store, looking at everything, but
lingering no place in particular. Geminis have some mighty strange eating habits. I knew Vegetarian Gemini once,
truly a macrobiotic "careful of what you eat, no animal products, nothing with a face type. What made this person
typically Gemini, was, in the heart of "nuts and fruits" (California), this particular Gemini would eat meat. Big, rare,
chunks of cow, obviously under done. Now, take this information and go to the grocery store with your Gemini friend.
They will look at everything. I mean, everything. Nothing is beyond their intellectual grasp.
Music: Gemini's have a strange penchant for the classics. Just about every Gemini I know has some classical music
in their collections. I wonder if they really have the attention span necessary to listen to a symphony all the way
through, or if they really listen to all that opera. However, this classical stuff will be intermingled with some
contemporary material as well. Something with a beat. Trying to narrow down a Gemini's sense of musical taste is a
little difficult. However, an upbeat flute solo, or "The flight of the Bumble Bee" really evokes what a Gemini might be
all about.
Walmart after midnight: One word -- exhausting. A Gemini is "hell-on-wheels" when it comes to going into the
super discount late night store. Nothing is safe. They will play with the toys in the children's department, they will take
a quick spin through the clothes, maybe try on some shoes, ask questions of the poor late staff people, and keep on
going. This place is less of a store and more of a playground. Of course, a Gemini frequently approaches life that
way.
Brick wall: Gemini is the original adaptable sign of the zodiac. They will tackle this brickwall with a certain zeal and
commitment to making sure that the goal is realized, that the wall is breached. However, in typical Gemini fashion, a
fixed obstacle that doesn't yield immediately to one of the 43 different efforts by the Gemini soon loses the Gemini's
attention. They get bored and wander off in search of other adventures. Of course, they did try more routes to get
around that wall than any other sign. One of us might pick up where the Gemini left off and find a good solution.
Bait: Gemini: Jointed Minnow -- Nothing works better on the Gemini than a super-long, jointed-minnow. It's pretty
much a top water lure, and the Gemini needs some flexibility. So a lure with some flexibility is needed to make the
Gemini happy. But unlike the plastic jobs which are way too "flexible," the jointed minnow lure is big enough to
present the Gemini with a challenge, and it offers enough rigidity that the Gemini will surely stay hooked.
Revenge: The easiest way to get revenge on a Gemini is to be boring. It drives a Gemini insane. Best of all, boring
for a Gemini can happen in three minutes or less.

You know, I've got to come up with some better musical allusions. I'm doing my best to stay
with the younger set. I can't keep make references to music which really shows my age. Or
movies that are long out dated and nothing more than a faded memory or a video cassette.
So I won't talk about Jaws, or the theme song. However, Venus, who was supposed to be
kind to you, has decided to take a minute vacation from her good ways, and stir up a little
trouble for you. It's not bad. Well, it's not too bad. She's just doing a retrograde thing which
means the romance thing needs to take a little bit of a breather right now. Of course, it's been
a weird summer for love, anyway. Styles from long ago have risen from the dead, and with
both Venus and Mercury in a tailspin, I would suggest that you have somebody who will
appear at your doorstep this week, looking like they still need to be buried again. Imagine a
week of "Night of the Living Dead."

GEMINI
The Twins may be at a crossroads this year,
and you could benefit from some sound
Astrological advice. Finding yourself ripe with
romantic desires, you are more assertive in this
department than you've been in a long while.
Whatever (or whomever!) you want is yours, and
you are riding on the wave of a very assertive,
confident, and powerful spell. Getting what you
want and being incredibly direct aren't generally
common areas for you to excel in, so you are
enjoying this time in the driver's seat. Other things
to keep in mind this year include not stepping on
everyone's fingers and toes on your climb to the
top. Remember that it is the people beneath you
who are holding up the pyramid, and to shun them
brings you closer to your own failure. When
planning travel throughout the year, try to maintain
as much flexibility as you can. Itineraries may not
go exactly to plan every time, and sometimes
tangents and back roads can be the most exiting
highlight of a trip. Stay in touch with your
surroundings, and don't put too much of a burden
on yourself. Remain open to odd suggestions and
fleeting opportunities. Everything may not always
go your way, but it is unlikely that you will get
bored. Fluctuations may occur in your day-to-day
cast of characters. There may be some great
changes made in the roles of the people who are
closest to you, either personally or professionally.

Gemini
May 21 - June 21
You may be forced to get along with someone
new, or perhaps some long-standing ties will be
severed. This is a period of new starts and fresh
beginnings for everyone involved. Turning your
focus inward and maintaining your own strengths
and well-being will prepare you for these new
adjustments. In January and February, your
friends may become more of a liability than an
asset. Other people are demanding more of your
time and efforts than you feel comfortable giving.
Take these requests in stride and make your
feelings known, bluntly but kindly. Time will take
care of some situations. Around this same time
period you will be experiencing bliss in your
career development or current employment
status. A raise, a promotion, or increased benefits
will fall into your favor. Pat yourself on the back!
You deserve it. As the Planets shift around March
through June, your perspective on the friends in
your life will change. You're feeling more
philanthropic in general, and the friends who were
once dragging you down are now a great asset to
you with their stellar advice and support to help
you achieve your goals.
Gemini
May 21 - June 21
April will really be a time for you to shine, so
The Twins had better make the most of it. People
are listening to what you have to say, so choose
your phrasing and your battles carefully. You are
at the center of every social instance, and other
people are stunned at your charm and your wit. In
the game of life, you are winning, and your energy
level is about as high as it can be. Partnerships
fall center stage again around September and
October. This time, everyone is working out a
compromise that is comfortable for all those
involved. Mutual growth, development and a
stronger closeness are everyone's gifts for
learning how to get along. In November and
throughout the end of the year, you are riding the
crest of love and appreciation for love and
humanity. Spirits are high, and you are enjoying
yourself and life's offerings immensely. Have a
good time, and seize a moment or two to be
thankful for the wonderful year and the turn of the
new millennium.

WEEKLY _ VIRGO
Expect to be charmed by
someone new at work Monday.
Lose the conservative bent on
Tuesday: Follow that wild
streak that's got you buzzing
for excitement. By midweek,
you look for new ways to
handle routine life tasks. Seek
a new way of going about your
daily tasks -- Add some spice
to your life! Remember that
your recent inspiration for a
little housecleaning doesn't
necessarily mean that others
are quite as eager to stir things
up in their own lives. Try not to
be overly harsh when asked for
advice from others. 'Easy does
it' should be your motto on
Sunday.

that one fits! I do plan to do a little housework, differently and put some spice in my life and people do ask for advice. I look at horoscopes. however, where I look, they usually don't fit or are so vague to me.
I live in Chicago and I'm usually up at night. (my days and nights have gotten turned around, but I am trying to reset my clock.) Currently, I do freelance editing or that sort or stuffy -- and writing.
are you a geologist?

No, my son is. I would have been one but the math and I did not get along...so I married a University Professor and did research and editing for 25 years. It would help me to know if you are male or female...understanding your horoscope and all that. I have never had any use for them, actually. My background is science back three generations, so it is strange for me to do this. I put that Gemini stuff down because I am like so much of it...it was so funny!

gemini is really a lot of fun, but because we're restless, we can appear moody or superficial. and it's great to know another gemini because feelings don't get hurt when we crave some space!
i know two pisces and all i can say about them is they have a strong selfish streak. i'm not saying they're terrible people (my mate is one).

Absolutely...I understand what you are saying. My SO and son are both Taurus. Heads so set in concrete you could build a structure on them...and an ex who is a Cancer. In interest of Harmony and Love and Peace, I shall say no more about that. *grin* but I am not wearing the Alexandrite for my ex!

You know I got lost here somewhere. I guess I started talking over in the other topic and they all begin to run together for me. I am so sorry.
My daughter is a Gemini, but I had tried for a Taurus (May 26). she has a lot of Tauras in her though -- the strong headed, tenatiousness, etc. You know, it is a shame, but because I tell myself she is more Taurus, I never found out about Geminis. Is that awful or what?

really need to get a hold of the birthday book. it goes into the different phases of each zodiac sign based on the day of your birth. the character traits are broken down even further. because your daughter is an early gemini, she'll show traits of taurus. the book is pretty big and i found it at sams. it has a blue cover with lots of bright celestial beings on the front (sun, moon, stars, etc.)

I'm gonna check out your place again there, Marcia, I mustve missed this. I'm a Libra, cusp of Virgo, moon in Cancer, actually a double Libra. I never really paid too much attention to the predictive aspects of astrology but the descriptive are generally so right on the money, with an enormous number of people I've looked up. Anyway, what this means, sports fans, is that I have a bunch of Virgo and Cancer traits. So I read all three in the newspapers. Bound to find something hopeful...

Is there anything better (or is it worse?) than a double Gemini? That is what I am, and though I never had anything to do with this "non-science" topic in real life, it sometimes gets pretty close to what I am really like - more than I would like to admit, actually! Read the newspaper ones until you find the one you like and make it your own. That is the system under which I operate.

Sagittarius
Being part of a group means being part of its process. Your input is a
valued resource when it comes to making a decision. Problems can be solved
without involving members of the legal professions. Just because you take
the intellectual high road doesn't make you a stick in the mud. Energize
the masses with your brilliance. People who are stalled always appreciate
a push to get them going. The Libra Moon brings out your extroverted side.
Find a social whirl and leap into the center of the vortex. You never know
who you might end up going around with.

Ok, the czarina of woo hoo's scope:
Aries
September 21, 1999
Friendship and bonding with others is the keyword, Aries. Today you and
your friends are the steel magnolias of the bunch; tough, beautiful, and
unwilting. Show everyone else how it's done. Be sure to plan accordingly,
though, or you may find yourself looking foolish. Even if you feel
invincible, be sure to factor human weakness into your plans. If you've
been putting off contacting someone you've lost touch with, today is the
day to get on the phone or write a letter. This would be a perfect day to
plan a reunion with friends you haven't seem for a long time.
