Not me! You, Wer?
~MarciaH Fri, Aug 27, 1999 (16:38) #102
Somehow, William in Drag does nothing for me. Come to think of it, men in drag in general are a turn-off, so I will just leave him on the cloud with the incontinence meds and fishnet stockings and stilletto heels and cut my loses. It was so enlighening to read that I think I will stay screwed for a long time.
~stacey Fri, Aug 27, 1999 (16:54) #103
*cackle* sorry Marcia... the befuddled look on your otherwise intelligent and perceptive face really cracked me up!
~MarciaH Fri, Aug 27, 1999 (17:05) #104
Stace, this is definitely not one of my better days. (digging a hole to bury that perceptive face so it percieves no more...)
~stacey Fri, Aug 27, 1999 (17:10) #105
WHAZZA MATTA YOU HEY? (IRL issues?)
~MarciaH Fri, Aug 27, 1999 (18:42) #106
IRL...but virtual...the current one we have been concerned about...I just stuck my foot in where I should not have...Hope I am forgiven.
~KitchenManager Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (00:09) #107
by whom? certainly not me, the Spring's court jester...
~MarciaH Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (00:18) #108
No, not by you...not ever you. You are not cruel enough to do that.
~quimby Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (00:34) #109
Alexander Greece - I guessed that... Just wanted to hear it I thought so ;-) Stacey or was this a convert effort to turn THIS topic in the hottest conferenece on the Spring?! Absolutely a convert effort, heh heh. All the Cheryl versus Cheryl vs doppelgangers is beyond me... so I throw up my hands in imagined helplessness and move on... ! So sorry, Stacey. It was quite rude of me, like speaking another language over someone else's head. Marcia and I were referring to two Cheryls who used to be at the Colinfest. One drops by less these days, only occasionally, but is loyal, as she is the keeper of some intimate article or other of Darcy's (a character Colin played.) The other was there for a few months and left, and she was quite opinionated. As to "doppelgangers", well, to me it's like weltanschauung and weltschmertz and bildungsroman and undestag and all those other German words you'd better use right or you'll look silly. Lord knows I don't need help with that. Ask Marcia why she's going all literary on us all of a sudden. I myself fell victim to the thrill of using gang signs outside of our turf. Please accept my apologies. 'then why waste time when you could be doing something you enjoy?' comment ...hear that affirmation/reprimand/mantra from another! Me too. It's the old "unbearable lightness of being." I'm having a great time or finally free and then I immediately clamp on the lead weights, make a slight hole in my oxygen tube, and leap into an ocean crevass. Occasionally someone knocks on my metal helmet and points up. I'm always forgetting that's an option. Stacey the tiramisu I was just wondering how he does that. But if you can't say, I understand. Marcia Now I am also lost...I think it is time to find something else to do. No! No! Now why would you do a thing like that? We can't carry on so freely in Firthland, and besides there's no guys there. Maybe a nap will make you feel better. Or a good stretch. Can I call you sugarplum? Sometimes it just slips out. I called my one of my lawyers honey (the one I don't know so well, a woman) the other day when we won big. It's truly a term of endearment and respect. Men here wear lavalavas ...hanging in front and in back. I've seen pictures of these things. I envy your official duties. You definitely rule; Malo-peeking is a much better official duty than reviewing the troops. And you soldiered through in a tough situation. Bravo. I cannot renounce my crown, because I am too vain, but I'm happy to welcome you aboard. Maybe it's better just the two of us. wer Oh, I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay..." LOL! I expect burly is relative, since you've been described by our man Ray as big (not runt-like). In the South and West, I'm average sized. In the North, I'm a giant. So the mystery remains. Karen LOL!! ;-D Karen you dog. Stop lurking and join us. Wer: thanks for the link. Trippy. Like Stacey, I throw up my hands in imagined helplessness and move on... Marcia Come to think of it, men in drag in general are a turn-off I don't think the point is ever to turn us (women) on. I'm sure our William had perfectly good reasons for whatever he did and carried it out with great savoir faire. Lumberjack, burly, or runt, as long as he didn't trip over himself, and remembered to hike up his skirt to run, he could have cut a dashing figure. There's so much being written these days about men in drag...but I don't know that that adds to a discussion of hot conferences, and also Alexander will say he's not following again ;-) Marcia, you apologize more than I do! What on earth did we do wrong? You're so much fun, whaddaya worrying about?
~MarciaH Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (00:47) #110
You did nothing. I think I need to get over the flu I got yesterday and I will feel better. I just need a hug...!
~KitchenManager Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (01:08) #111
I'll be back to comment after some sleep...
~quimby Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (01:32) #112
xxxoooxxxoooxxxoooxxxoooxxxoooxxxooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
~MarciaH Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (12:06) #113
Thank you, my dear quimby...My spirits are a little better this morning, butmy eyes resent being asked to focus on small print. x0x0x0x0x back at you.*smile*
~quimby Sun, Aug 29, 1999 (08:09) #114
O
~MarciaH Sun, Aug 29, 1999 (11:18) #115
Thanks....I can actually see that, but it keeps coming and going..and coming...must be my eyes again ;) (Looks like someone has been at the HTML programming again. Very nice, dear!)
~aschuth Sun, Aug 29, 1999 (13:30) #116
hoho, Quimby, gotcha: "The other was there for a few months and left, and she was quite opinionated. As to "doppelgangers", well, to me it's like weltanschauung and weltschmertz and bildungsroman and undestag and all those other German words" Yep, I know what you mean (harhar), even though YAPP ate the Bundestag's "B", and the Doppelgnger's ""'s two silly dots and added something precious to the general Weltschmerz I have at the moment, like the hangover from some stingy friend's cheap wine at that party that lasted until sunrise and broke up in a argument nobody ever understood what it was all about afterwards.
~MarciaH Sun, Aug 29, 1999 (14:31) #117
...sorry about the missing umlauts. I will try harder next time. and, quit drinking that cheap stuff...it will rust your plumbing and make your head feel dreadful, ruin your joie d'vivre and other Irish terms;)
~stacey Mon, Aug 30, 1999 (11:04) #118
*lol*
~aschuth Mon, Aug 30, 1999 (14:38) #119
Marcia = Cheyenne ? Huh, das verwirrt mich jetzt aber, I must say! Anyway, Marcia, needn't be the bottled stuff - many folks substitute this nicely by using lead pipes for their drinking water... (BTW, that wasn't CHEAP wine, it just was a lot...)
~MarciaH Mon, Aug 30, 1999 (14:57) #120
(...I was just using your words)...not implying your having overindulged. Gak!! Your water is that bad, is it?! Causes brain damage...downfall of the Roman Empire and all that! (I meant your personal plumbing...btw *grin*) hmmmm...which Cheyenne might this be that Marcia=???
~mikeg Tue, Aug 31, 1999 (08:58) #121
over-indulgement in wine is something I can relate to this morning :)) ::headache:: :)
~MarciaH Tue, Aug 31, 1999 (12:13) #122
...poor mikey...wear very soft slippers and use rubber dishes. We must be very quiet while this wears off...shhhhhh!
~aschuth Tue, Aug 31, 1999 (12:24) #123
so i tell you... marcia = quimby = cheyenne = charlene = ch... that right? guess not. mikey, best wishes! had an aspirin yet? vitamins, fresh air and darkness might help, too...
~mikeg Tue, Aug 31, 1999 (13:02) #124
rather than a noisy dealing floor and glowing computer screens, you mean? Ahhhh that's where I went wrong :)
~MarciaH Tue, Aug 31, 1999 (13:14) #125
Oh yes, indeed! This calls for muted everything from sounds, visual stimulation, and probably oral, too. Unless on of the latter two would make you forget you had a hangover?! Happy thought, indeed! (computer screens give headaches to healthy people...turn it off or very dim, anyway!) *hugs* Mike!
~quimby Tue, Sep 14, 1999 (02:04) #126
Alexander: sorry, Marcia and I really are two different people, as I'm sure she'll attest. But you're catchin' on, clearly.
~MarciaH Tue, Sep 14, 1999 (18:24) #127
Hi Quimby. I've missed you of late. now that CF's birthday is over, perhaps you will not be such as stranger.
~stacey Wed, Sep 15, 1999 (12:08) #128
gotta chuckle every time I see 'CF' Brandon and I refer to gobs of people milling as a 'cf' or huge traffic disorde rs as a 'cf'... affectionately known as a 'cluster fuk'
~aschuth Wed, Sep 15, 1999 (12:30) #129
Welcome back, Potte...erh, Quimby! Sure I catch on! You know, I always dig everything... What were you talking about, run that by me again, pls?
~MarciaH Wed, Sep 15, 1999 (14:57) #130
Oh Stacey! *lol* Now you've done it. That is all I will see now when I head cf. Guess that's why we also use ODB and DB for him (Our Dear Boy or Dear Boy) for which someone will have a ready alternate meaning...*sigh* I haven't a clue who I am anymore...suggestions of yours are as good as mine!
~aschuth Wed, Sep 15, 1999 (16:11) #131
You be Marcia? I guess?
~MarciaH Wed, Sep 15, 1999 (16:39) #132
You Peeked ! Indeed, the one and only that I am aware of around this very special place. *smile*
~stacey Thu, Sep 16, 1999 (12:56) #133
hey it's me! Potty Mouth!
~aschuth Thu, Sep 16, 1999 (13:04) #134
I could have figured pouty mouth, but potty? Pardon, Miss?
~stacey Thu, Sep 16, 1999 (13:09) #135
given name to all of those who espouse nasty words outta their mouths... like the stuff outta people s butts
~aschuth Thu, Sep 16, 1999 (14:59) #136
Oooh, THAT potty! Hey, but pouty mouth would be nice, too... Wonder if I ever meet somebody around here who pouts...
~stacey Fri, Sep 17, 1999 (16:41) #137
I probably do on occassion...
~aschuth Sat, Sep 18, 1999 (15:12) #138
... YOU? I'd never have guessed!
~aschuth Sat, Sep 18, 1999 (15:13) #139
Hey, don't pout! That was jes' kiddin', gal!
~stacey Mon, Sep 20, 1999 (16:33) #140
*fake pout* (furrowed brow and jutted out lower lip) no you weren't...
~aschuth Tue, Sep 21, 1999 (12:14) #141
Ah, girlie, donna play games like dat! Din'tcha Mommie tell ya tha brows-trick gets ya wrinkles? (hehe, should cure 'er!)
~stacey Tue, Sep 21, 1999 (17:13) #142
*wide eyes* *straight brow* (can't help laughing with this kinda get up on my face!)
~riette Wed, Sep 22, 1999 (13:13) #143
Something like this??? :-]
~aschuth Wed, Sep 22, 1999 (13:27) #144
That's gotta be her!
~stacey Wed, Sep 22, 1999 (13:54) #145
very nice!
~MarciaH Wed, Sep 22, 1999 (15:11) #146
You got it....! ...and I got the nicest letter back for my efforts *grin*
~MarciaH Wed, Sep 22, 1999 (15:14) #147
That was my look, too on post your primary email here, and all that stuff yesterday. I can still feel the headache!
~riette Thu, Sep 23, 1999 (04:17) #148
You get upset with yourself too easily. I've made worse mistakes than that millions of times around here, so much so you'd think I was getting paid for it. It doesn't really matter. It would be scary if no-one EVER made mistakes.
~stacey Thu, Sep 23, 1999 (09:01) #149
i second that! it's only funny because we've all done silly things like that before...
~riette Thu, Sep 23, 1999 (13:02) #150
Yeah! You remember how Jim and I used to fight, Stacey??
~MarciaH Thu, Sep 23, 1999 (14:14) #151
Gotcha, and thanks. Icannot bear for people I respect and like very much to think I am being truly stupid on purpose, or as Jane Austen put it, "I cannot bear to think of [him] out in the world and thinking ill of me" Again, thanks. I should have realized long ago that there was no malice in any one of us toward the other...*hugs*
~stacey Thu, Sep 23, 1999 (15:14) #152
point well taken Marcia (and again I didn't mean to hurt your feelings) but one thing I have a problem with... you worry so much about what others think of you... especially those you feel closest to... Why?? we all really enjoy you and your posts, have confidence in that. those you care about, care about you 9and if you get any sense that they don't... you don't deserve that... I know you don't want us to have to walk on eggshells around you... please just believe that we like you and appreciate your views and thoughts and especially feelings. and then, if at anytime you do feel wronged or angry, we can discuss it... but i don't want our idle and ridiculous banter (and ability to laugh about silly things) to put you on edge (or us on edge either)... so... take a deep breath of Spring air and smile... we are amoung friends...
~MarciaH Thu, Sep 23, 1999 (15:44) #153
Yep! ...and I can feel all the warmth and fuzziness. Unfortunately stuff going on in my Hilo home (NOT Spring home)was making me more tense and cautious. I can see it now and will head it off at the pass next time. No eggshell walking...makes a mess on your floor and hurts bare feet. As we were! *hugs all around* *BIG smiles*
~stacey Thu, Sep 23, 1999 (16:26) #154
thanks Marcia! (for the fundraising prompting in another conference!) EVERYBODY... I am trying to raise $4200 for the Leukemia Society by December 1st... my great feat that I would like you ALL to sponsor is a marathon run... 26.2 miles Most people are donating a dollar a mile -- $26.20 but I have had some WONDERFUL surprises of more (including $100 form an uncle, $100 from my boss and $100 from my boss' boss!) ANY amount would be FAN-DAMN TASTIC as I have a long way to go... good vibes would certainly help as well! I have described this in detail in fitness but w/ this kind of prompting from Marcia, I'll post it around somemore!
~terry Thu, Sep 23, 1999 (16:49) #155
Post the address Stacey, so folks know where to send it.
~stacey Thu, Sep 23, 1999 (16:51) #156

~riette Fri, Sep 24, 1999 (03:05) #157
Did I mention my side-line is actually axe murdering? And now I know where thee LIVE!!!! visciously sharpening my axe and teeth
~aschuth Fri, Sep 24, 1999 (05:26) #158
Hehe, not like some others here, no? I used to be pretty cool at "grinding an axe", and if I get going, I still sometimes do...
~stacey Fri, Sep 24, 1999 (09:58) #159
Ah ha! Actually now you know where I WORK!!!! And hopefully the armed guards out from will keep you at bay!
~riette Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (02:56) #160
Not if I hide the axe and pump up my boobs!
~stacey Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (11:53) #161
*laugh* I'd come running outta the building to see that!
~riette Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (12:53) #162
ha-ha! I'm banking on it....! And then, WHAM!!! OFF with yer head!
~stacey Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (14:57) #163
*ouch* perhaps you're telling me you'd rather not donate to this cause then??
~aschuth Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (17:09) #164
As generous as she is, she'll donate proceedings from her last three commissions to your cause, and then BAM! off with yer head... Bet she uses a machete...
~stacey Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (17:24) #165
damn it. OUCH
~aschuth Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (17:29) #166
But you'd still have the contribution, and a way cool PR that every other team will be envios of!
~stacey Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (17:31) #167
not if i don't finish the marathon!
~aschuth Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (17:42) #168
Oh, I guess she'll possess the strenght of will to wait 'til you cross the finish line...
~riette Tue, Sep 28, 1999 (03:46) #169
Nope, I'll use my axe - one carved by an artist, so at least it will be an aesthetic way to go, right? In fact, I shall have an exhibition on sight - art in motion! YES YES YES! This might just turn out to be my big break! Stacey, I'll donate. Tell me what to do.
~stacey Tue, Sep 28, 1999 (10:10) #170
well... hmmm... how to do that different currency thing? I called Team Leukemia and they said the currency/check has to be in US dollars so... are there was to get money orders in different currencies? Alexander, Mr. Entrepenur... do you know how to go about this?? (Thanks Ree-head!!)
~riette Tue, Sep 28, 1999 (13:11) #171
Stacey, I could sponsor you, then send you the money in cash, via insured mail. That would be the easiest thing, I think.
~stacey Tue, Sep 28, 1999 (14:28) #172
Woo Woo! Sending cashola through the mail! (Do you want me to send you the sponsor forms??) n oops
~MarciaH Tue, Sep 28, 1999 (16:33) #173
There are International Money Orders (or used to be) obtainable at your bank. If someone in Zurich, the very city where the Gnomes who will take over the money of the entire world (according to the crazies) cannot get a money transfer, I guess we are all in big trouble!
~stacey Wed, Sep 29, 1999 (10:49) #174
do you know about those Ree-head?
~MarciaH Wed, Sep 29, 1999 (12:53) #175
Sometimes they are called International Reply Coupons...
~riette Wed, Sep 29, 1999 (13:07) #176
Yeah, I know about international money orders - I know the fees they charge on them here especially well, plus they take WEEKS to get anywhere. That's why I suggested insured cash. Doesn't matter - we'll see when the time comes. Send me the forms, Stacey, I'll sponsor you gladly. R. Walton Klosbachstr. 72 CH-8032 Zurich Switzerland Tel.: (01) 382 10 64
~stacey Wed, Sep 29, 1999 (13:43) #177
they are in the envelope... gotta take em to the post office to see how many stamps to put on! THANK YOU!
~riette Thu, Sep 30, 1999 (16:11) #178
cool!
~MarciaH Wed, Feb 23, 2000 (00:09) #179
I'd love to see the stats for which conference was busiest for the last few days. I do believe Geo gave Drool bit of competition for the title of hottest conference. Does this server allow such statistics?
~sprin5 Wed, Feb 23, 2000 (00:14) #180
I think so, can't think of the actual mechanics right at the moment, have you perused the yapp guide at http://www.armidalesoftware.com or on http://www.spring.net/help ?
~MarciaH Wed, Feb 23, 2000 (12:22) #181
Thank you! Just curious, is all... I'll go take a look around the Yapp guide. I did not know it existed. (Learning stuff all the time here.)
