Now the Spring has it's own Bond Girl, it's also time to give all the Bond girls their dues... Applause, please!

Barbara Carrera is my fave...always has been, always will be. My own former little softball star Tia Carrere (nee Althea Janairo) took the last name Carrere as a tribute to the Nicaraguan beauty.

Ms. Carrera was "Fatima Blush" in Never Say Never Again. No disrespect intended Stacey, congratulations on your recent nuptials and may you and Mr. T. have many decades of wedded blitz--I mean, bliss!

Interesting, John...I wondered about that...
I liked Emma Peele...but she was an Avenger not a Bond Girl...

Do you mean the original TV Emma Peele (Diana Rigg) or the 90s movie version (Uma Thurman)?

My favourite Bond girl is Judy Dench - even though she's not a Bond girl in THAT sense.

Oh Joh, the original - Diana Rigg. None better...but I agree with Ree - Dame Juni Dench makes the rest look less than worthy. My choice, as well!

(must be oxygen deprivation - I keep leaving the last letter off your name, my dear JOHN. Sorry...)

Haven't seen or met too many Englishwomen who float my boat--although I did have a huge crush on Hayley Mills when I was a child--and then on Diana Rigg, until I read an article in Playboy (I was about 18) where she said that American men were lousy lovers (not some American men or the American men she'd had, but the gross generalization) and she'd never consider another one.

She just lost my vote as well. Thanks for putting her in perspective! Pretty is as pretty does, you know!

Sad but true. Good thing that Forrest Gump's mother was able to change the operative word and put it into perspective for him, as well! (and I still do like Hayley Mills and her sister, Juliet, as well). I'm in awe of Emma Thompson's talent, but don't find her particularly sexy (maybe it's that awestruck thing). Loved her playing a Hillary Clinton clone in Primary Colors. I love "Downtown" Julie Brown, but she's a Brit of Jamaican ancestry.

I like Diana Rigg alot. There was an interview with her on Parkinson recently, and she seemed incredibly sympathetic as a person. And she's a brilliant actress - she was the most brilliant stage Medea ever.

I'm not doubting her abilities--or her beauty. Both are self-evident. I just know what I read and to me it was a kick in my insecure adolescent groin. Does she have Parkinson's. If so, that is unfortunate. I don't wish that on anyone.

Ooh, and I forgot about ELIZABETH HURLEY!!!!!!!!! Now there's an Englishwoman who does it for me--and I wish she would! Hugh Grant IS a daft prick! With a woman like that, what does that moron need hookers for?

You two seem to forget that Elizabeth Hurley is no strangers to (male) hookers either ... Perhaps she and Mr Grant just take that sharing thing too seriously at times ... grin
No, Diana Rigg doesn't have Parkinson's! Parkinson is an Englishman who interview celebtrities on a show called - yes, PARKINSON!

I have no idea what you're talking about with Elizabeth Hurley and male hookers. If so, it wasn't in the American press. Nor do we get much British TV programming here...what little there is has 20 people watching on PBS.

Make that 21 people watching it if you did not count me the first time. Hmmmm
am terribly curious about the male hookers and EH...please explain...

Let's just say that her British Press nickname is not 'Bonny Liz Hurley', but 'Bunny Liz Hurley'.
Like Emma Thompson she is apparently a REAL slut. I think it's cool. I mean whatever reason is there for single people not to copulate when they feel like copulating? I

i saw EH in my fave martian and couldn't stand her. it seemed she was playing herself true to life or something. it wasn't a stretch by any means, but i don't know her.
and i just saw tia carrerra in a movie about 5 friends who grew up together and found each other again many years later. it had charles (i.e., charlie) sheen in it who played the ever faithful fiance (AS IF!!)....tia played a wife of one of the guys and the part i caught was of her telling him she didn't miss him anymore and that she didn't love him. don't ask me what the name of that one was.
was she ever a bond girl?
oh, and grace jones. one helluva bad bond girl! she was so strange i loved her!!
