Finding out who's online with us can be difficult. How about we all download and install the ICQ internet software, and then publish our ICQ numbers here?
~riette #1
Huh? What is an ICQ number? Software? I've only got T.I.T. software!
~mikeg #2
hehehe visit http://www.icq.com
~terry #3
I have a bunch of 'em! hot@spring.com or hot@spring.net ... I forget which is where I am in the evenings after 6 pm. hotty is my icq handle.
~riette #4
If you tell me what icq stands for, I'll tell you what T.I.T. stands for.
~stacey #5
*laugh* I think they'd rather come up with their own definition!
~terry #6
It partly comes from ham radio, "I seek you". Now, your turn, Riette.
~kristen #7
I got my ICQ number today. 15601557 is it. ICQ and email me so I can find out more about how to use this. Help.
~kristen #8
I need lots of help getting started. Email me at kristen@spring.net and let me know how to build a conference list and how to get around here. Send the welcome wagon my way, please!!! I'm the redhead in Terry's video with the tatoo. Is it being discussed somewhere here? kristen@spring.net
~KitchenManager #9
is you telnetting in or web-bing in?
~kristen #10
Both, mostly telnetting though.
~riette #11
Terry, T.I.T. stands for a-hem. . . Thorougly Interesting Things.
~mikeg #12
heeeee welcome again, Kristen. I think we should open a topic in Porch specifically for new types. I'll do it right after this. In fact, right now. I'll try ICQ-ing you tonight, Kristen, cos I've never used it before!
~riette #13
How does one ICQ another person? Does one have to be on the Pill to do that without getting into trouble?
~ratthing #14
poor riette! flustered and confused by ourfirsttime.com!
~mikeg #15
heheheh :)) download and install the ICQ software, riette, and then we cna go from there. gonna try it myself for the first time now. :)
~KitchenManager #16
it's available at http://www.icq.com/
~wolf #17
is it kind of like msn conferencing? do we all have to be on the same program for us to call each other? i'll go to the site and see for myself! (hi wer)
~KitchenManager #18
hey, toots!
~terry #19
My ICQ 5384381. hot@spring.net
~wolf #20
mine is: 15655049 (btw, that download took a very looooooong time)
~wer #21
gonna try and load it up on the computer at work...just don't know when I'll have the computer to myself long enough to do it...probably somewhere along my next 'bout of insomnia...
~riette #22
I'll have a look later. Got to hurry - the girls will be up soon, and I still want to send e-mail to Sonja. Still trying to get her to come to the spring.
~mikeg #23
make her come. tell her how beautiful we all are. especially wolf.
~wolf #24
yeah, that'll work (note that tone of sarcasm)
~KitchenManager #25
but, I'm tone deaf...
~riette #26
Nope, Sonja won't come. I even promised her to send her picture to Mike to put into Babes (she is by FAR the better looking), but she won't. Thinks her English isn't good enough. Silly bugger. I told her that bad English never stopped the Boers from attacking the English, but no, she's too decent. That makes me the evil twin, I suppose. No, actually she simply works too much to be able to sit on the computer like I do - she's a medical transcriptor/CAT scan operator, and constantly on call. She says she might log in when she goes home in October for holiday - think my brother has internet now.
~terry #27
Are you any relation to the Waltons in Arkansas? The ones that started up a little chain of stores?
~riette #28
I don't know! It is my husband's name that I've taken for practical reasons - hope that doesn't make me submissive. My unmarried name was Steyn. But I'll ask him! Wish WE owned a little chain of stores . . .
~terry #29
Yep, the Waltons have a little mom and pop store called WalMart. Ever heard of it? They're the third richest family in the world, bhind Bill Gates and some sheik or something. Maybe the fourth.
~wolf #30
thought you were gonna ask her if she was related to John-Boy or something!
~riette #31
As the Afrikaners would say: FOK dit!!! 'Cos I asked him, but nope, his family roots all lie in a town called Billingham in northern England where everyone worked in mines, and the girls bore and average of 11 children each, and he is one of only two members of that family who turned out intelligent enough to go to university (but may I brag by saying my husband's an Oxbridge man?). His intelligent cousin, Alan Walton became a writer of erotic works and translated works such as 'The perfumed garden' into English. And that's why we're not the third or fourth richest buggers in the world. BIG BIG SIGH
~mikeg #32
I've finally added you all to my ICQ program (which I had left lurking in the corner). I'll drop you all messages now...
~terry #33
What's your ICQ id? Or number? Try adding judybee@swbell.net to your icq list. Also, warm@spring.net, hot@spring.net, cold@spring.net.
~mikeg #34
15546219 i've added hot@spring.net, i think
~mikeg #35
hot@spring.net doesn't seem to be online
~terry #36
What about warm@spring.net ... that's where Kristen checks in.
~terry #37
Do you have NetMeeting also, Mike?
~mikeg #38
i did have, but i never managed to get it configured so i didn't bother maybe if you wanted to try it out i'd have another go
~terry #39
Well, all our workstations at Spring Austin are set up with NetMeeting and most with video. At least 3 or 4 are set up this way. The one in the kitchen is the most used.
~terry #40
The trick to finding us on NetMeeting is to log in to the server: ils.business.four11.com as a business user. Then sort the listings by city and look for Austin, TX. That will most likely show all our NetMeeting sessions.
